Mutual Hatred feat vs. Studied Target or Studied Combat

Rules Questions

The Exchange

Consider the feat Mutual Hatred (Monster Codex p. 164) and then the class features Studied Combat (ARG p. 34) and Studied Target (ARG p. 53). If one considers the general mechanic of the feat (a bonus to hit those who have a bonus to hit you), it should probably apply. On the other hand, if the word 'hate' has to appear in the fluff text, those new abilities probably don't allow use of the feat.

Do these new abilities fulfill the conditions of the Mutual Hatred feat or not?

No.

While those class abilities are certainly similar, the feat specifically calls out the two abilities that it function against and neither studied combat or studied target are on that list.

I would say no. It calls out only racial hate or favored enemy. I wouldn't extend it to studied combatant or studied target.

That being said...the feat is pretty weak as it is, so it might not be a problem in a house game to let it work anyways.

That's true. The main reason I wonder if this was just an oversight is the proximity of the release dates: it's possible that the writer of the feat didn't know that two new, thematically similar abilities were about to be added to the game. Still, in this case I'll definitely take a lack of an answer as a 'no'.
