Nothing weird about that. At my friend's workplace years ago, one of his guys went to get on the forklift and a wild turkey was there. My friend was the boss and told the guy don't bother it, it'll wander off. Guy bothered it and the bird ripped him up good. My friend had to take this minion to the hospital for stitches and file the report.
My friend's bosses called him up and he had to explain how this guy got himself torn up by a wild turkey.
The park where i worked has a zoo. Turkeys were the number one cause of injury. workers would rather go in the bear den with the bears.
