Seems like every set has more characters I want to play. Imrijka, Balazar, Shardra, even the redos of Harsk and Shardra seem as rad as can be. My wife and I streamed some RotR on twitch back in the day. Think we might do a run of S&S while we wait on WotR just so we can get our mitts on some of characters from THAT set we missed.
Think I made the right choice with Adowyn, like Mersiel and Damiel, she immediately vibed as "this character is made for me." I picked it just because she has Leryn and wolves are awesome, but happening across a Fortune Teller has concreted her perfection. With Woof Friend in hand, Fortune Teller is a guaranteed "free" (it does take a recharged card, for the scouting) explore per turn. Between Fortune Teller, Carbuncle, and the occasional Detect Demon you can get a lot of extra explores per turn without having to discard any precious blessings. When her hand size gets bigger, her ability to scout and use those cards is only going to get better.
Adowyn's also gotten me to do something I ordinarily never even consider: acquire boons I don't want. Helmet or a Wooden Shield? Sure I'll roll on it, it'll give me something to recharge to get Leryn back into my hand that isn't a card I actually want. And, since Adowyn's 5-card hand moves pretty slowly when two cards are taken up by a weapon and Fortune Teller (and Leryn, sometimes!), those cards usually don't come back to haunt me. Even if they do: I just recharge 'em again to keep the scouting train rolling. :D

I think you'd be okay, depending on who the other two characters are. Imrijka's high strength makes her ideal for longbows and such. There seem to be enough ranged weapons to go around. Also, you can't go wrong with extra cures.
As an aside, I like to think that Imrijka's strength based ranged skill means that she just beats her foes with her bows.

Crowe has been an awesome solo character so far, bringing me all the way through AD1. Through a mix of very conservative "Nope, lost my hand twice in 4 rounds, i'm out." and "Well, burned almost everything I have. If this next one isn't the villian...", it's been a very d12 based ride through Mendev. Longspears (and their rerolls) are my friend!

Even though I really feel like the "Item-User"-archetype is missing in this set, I had a strong feeling for Adowyn. (Merisiel and Damiel were my favorites in previous sets)
I did like the new Seela, but since I already played with her through RotR, I didn't feel like her.
I also leaned a bit towards Enora, because her Scholar role gives the best vibe for a ItemUser, but I really, really, *REALLY* dislike Arcane Casters in every game.
So yeah, Adowyn is my go to girl. I just feel like her Leryn is too strong, since you can just shuffle it in your deck and then get it back out. It's a free scout. Every. Turn.

I meant it as: You can scout 9 out of 10 cards you come across before actually encountering them.

It's powerful, especially coming off of the limited scouting of S&S, but recharging a card ain't free, especially not with Adowyn's mid-range hand size. If you're aggressive with your recharging and get caught flat-footed by a Sloth Demon or, worse, an Arboreal Blight, that can really mess up your flow. I generally use Leryn to guarantee a free encounter from Fortune Teller, then go blind into my first explore, then use Leryn again to see what's around the bend. Total cost: 2 recharged cards. That's about as cheap as explores get, but I wouldn't weigh it as overpowered in the face of Augury, say, which is one recharged card for a relatively sure bet of getting one or two monsters not just scouted, but out of the way. I mean, Adowyn players are just getting to enjoy what Alahazra players already knew. :D
There's probably a bit of an opportunity cost on fun, depending what kind of player you are. Recharging a ton of cards means not using those cards, which can be a little stultifying. Your turns are efficient, but less interesting by lack of variety. In our past couple scenarios, I haven't played Detect Demon or used Carbuncle for his power--of course, they were frequently recharged in service of securing 100% Fortune Teller encounters, so this may be what some people call A Good Problem To Have.

I'm also loving my Adowyn playthrough, though I wish her favored card was weapon. if I don't draw one of my weapons, I have to skulk about to waste a turn or two as I roll through cards to get my combat setup.
Luckily, there's still something for me to do (scouting with Leryn), and the very same mechanic means that emptying my hand to find my lucky dagger isn't nearly as painful as it would be for other characters.
Adowyn's a boss.
