Half-Elf Cartomancy using Paragon Surge?

Okay first off I'm fairly new at Pathfinder, so for those of you that are old hats at this game please bear with me.

I'm interested in what's the benefit's of using Paragon Surge?

Want a random narrow Metamagic Feat that would be great now but terrible everywhere else...You have it.

Want a spell that you don't have...You do now.

Skill boost of some sort...got it.

Any other feat...It's yours.

Be aware that Paizo FAQ-errata'd the spell so that you can only pick a benefit once per day and further castings give the same benefit.

I believe Emergency Attunement gets around this nicely. Have any spell or metamagic feat you could take normally available as a standard action.
