Creating iconics from the most popular 3PP classes

Product Discussion

So I have been talking to a few 3PP and I have decided to start making iconics based off of their most popular classes for the NeoExodus: A House Divided Campaign Setting. We are going to do the Time Thief (from Rogue Genius Game), the White Necromancer (from Kobold Press), and Psion (Dreamscarred Press). What other classes from the 3PP would you like to see as iconics?

Sovereign Court

A warlord from Path of war, A Psychic warrior and last but not least, a Godling.

Classes I'd like to see in Neo-Exodus:

Onmyoji from Interjection Games.

Battlelord from Amora Games' Liber Influxus Communis

Shadow Warrior from Rogue Genius Games - specifically using a spiked chain to show it is actually viable.

Warder from DSP's PoW.

And from that other 3PP, Paizo

Investigator

Warpriest

With complete bias:

(from Forest Guardian Press)

Savage

Direlock

and from previously mentioned Liber Influxus Communis:

Synergist

Would also really like to see a Magpie from LRGG's Necropunk, but it is kinda linked to specific mechanics of that campaign setting.

Scarab Sages

Malefactor from TPK

hmmm...
Godlings (all 4): Rogue Genius Games
Dracomancer: Rogue Genius Games
Battle Scion: Kobold Press
The Wolf Shifter: Wayfinder

Scarab Sages

Also the Occultist from Radiance House when its re-released

You wouldn't know who wrote this would you?

Question: When you say you are making iconics, do you mean short backstory characters that will be seen repeatedly in artwork for future NeoExodus content? Or will you stop at evocative profile images that try to catch the flavor and excitement of the class?

Follow-up question--if it's the former, does the machinesmith have an iconic background to her, and where could I read it?

I can say with all certainty:

Dreamscarred Press' Aegis, Warder and Vitalist.

The easy answer is, Yes we do and no you can't read it.

It is all in my head and it is tied to our webcomic, Grand Theft Exodus, that has been in development for a few years. I am hoping that we can start showing and releasing it some time in the very near future.

It may be a good design, but it's not very popular.

If you want popular: tinker, ethermancer, herbalist, in that order.

Wayfinder #5, listed authors are Brandon “KrVnk” Waldenberg and Darrick “Drack530” Dahl

Divine Channeler, Luckbringer or Taskshaper from Rite

Well just to get people more excited about this, I have been talking to Owen KC Stephens and Andreas Rönnqvist who both have agreed to create iconics with this project, most likely the Time Thief from Owen and possibly Aegis from Andreas from Dreamscarred Press. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Rogue Genius Games Shadow Assassin and Shadow Warrior

Dark Archive

Psychic Warrior, Soulknife, Wilder, or Path of War class from Dreamscarred Press.

All classes for Rogue Genius Games.

All classes from the New Paths Compendium from Kobold Press.

Dreadfox Games' Swordmaster.

Interjection Games' Tinker.

TPK Games' Malefactor

Harbinger from DSP's Path of War: Expanded. The class is just lovely, balance-wise and fluff/thematics-wise. I was fairly active in playtesting it and so many of the maneuvers it gets are really cool, so it'd be just as cool to see an iconic using it.

Preferably with Shattered Mirror focus, because Mirror is awesome.

Interjection: The Strange Magic classes, particularly the Breakdancer and Maestro from Ultimate Composition and the Ethermancer from Ultimate Ethermagic.
The Onmyoji
The Antipodist

Rite:
The Luckbringer, from The Secrets of Adventuring.
The other two classes from Secrets of Adventuring, the Taskshaper and Divine Channeler, would also be good to have.

The Gelatinous Cube racial paragon class, by Wendall Roy. It may be an April fools supplement, but it's still a fun and viable class.
The Draconic Exemplar racial paragon class, from In the Company of Dragons.

DSP: The Wilder, Psychic Warrior, Aegis, and Warder.

If I could only pick one iconic to have in, it would be the Maestro (Ultimate Composition/Strange Magic). My second choice would probably be either the Luckbringer or the Ethermancer.

I didn't think PoW: Expanded had released yet?

The Halfgiant would make for a good soul-knife iconic.

Paizo Employee Design Manager

The Momenta from Liber Influxus by Amora Games. That awesome little guy is great with everything.

The Marauder from Alluria Press. A smidge on the weak side, but thematically awesome and makes for dynamic combats (or a cool villain who's fast enough to get away!).

Aegis from DSP is an awesome idea for NeoExodus, glad to see it's probably going to happen.

A Tactician from DSP would also make for a cool NE NPC.

The Vizier from DSP would also be cool; one using Hand Cannons and a few other thematically appropriate veils could click right in, bridging the magic/tech gap perfectly for the setting (IMHO).

The Nightblade from Ascension Games could make a really cool NPC.

I'd be interested in seeing LRGG's Runesmith making an appearance in NE.

Hmm... a huge third-party npc codex... sounds delicious.

I vote for the Interjection Games' onmyoji and the Dreamscarred Press' vizir.

The following are beloved classes that deserve an iconic for me:

Direlock
Malefactor
Tinker
Occultist
Nightblade

What about the Demon Shaman or Priest from Flaming Crab Games? :3

Little Red Goblin Games Ravan and Shaper, Wrestler, The Judge, Street Samurai, Invoker, Thunder Chief,Dimensional Knight, Elementalist, Pilot, Partisan, Runesmith, Psychopath, or Battle Chef.

Looks like we might be on the process of adding ANOTHER well known 3PP writer and design to do an iconic for the class they created. Who is the writer/game designer? What is the class? Who is doing the artwork? I guess we will know soon.

Dark Archive

A Noble from the Freeport Companion: Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Edition, perhaps?

(Other classes from that book include the Assassin, the Corsair, the Monster Hunter and the Survivor, but the Noble has probably seen the most development from Green Ronin, of those listed, having had it's own splatbook back in 3.X., along with their versions of the Cavalier, Psychic, Shaman, Witch and Unholy Warrior.)

Witch Hunter, Magister and Hellion (all Super Genius Games), Gypsy and Swordmaster (both Dreadfox), Herbalist and Brewmaster (both Interjection Games).

Silver Crusade

Puppetmaster (Dreadfox Games)
Deductionist (TPK games)
Battle Chef (Little Red Goblin Games)
Sanguine Disciple (Interjection Games)

It is in playtesting still, but Harbinger itself basically finished (nerfed, rebalanced, and tweaked from the playtest docs) about about to be released in its own PDF with pretty art and stuff. I don't know the exact release date, but was told that it's Soon(TM).

We are planning to cover ALL the basic, advanced and hybrid classes from Paizo as iconics

Will these Iconics be sort of 'generic,' or might they include some new ideas or rules elements (sort of like how Sajan, the 'iconic' monk, uses a brand new weapon, not even a little bit 'iconic' to the monk class?).

Will non-Core elements, such as a Druid whose companion is one of the dozens from the Bestiaries (such as a Roc or Elk or Styracosaurus), be available?

Dark Archive

Personally I want to see both the Time Thief and the Time Warden, laughs perhaps have the Iconics' appearance similar to that of a certain Doctor or his other incarnations (joking... mostly).

I am trying to keep it Core with the actual supplement/book of the class. I mean these are iconic we are creating after all so nothing crazy.

We are really focusing on making them iconic and generic so if you pick them up you get a goo feel for the class, race AND the setting itself.

If a 3rd and 5th class can have it, then it is possible for the iconic to have it.
