Liberty's Edge

Here goes,

I have a level 12 uncreated GM blob in PFS. I could use said character in a game in a few weeks. I am looking at some sort of divine caster, healing but with some other options. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. I have many ideas, like a negative channel daze cleric, Druid with huge animal for battlefield control. None of them are really grabbing me though. Just wondering if anyone can give me some ideas.

So PFS level twelve character, divine caster, go!

I have an idea for a build I will type up, if you wouldn't mind, a couple questions.

With GM credit, can you add item's purchased on several different chronicles? My thinking is be the Exchange and take the Qadira Boon for 10% off a purchase once per scenario. But I am not sure if you can still take those boons so I wanted to ask first, also if you know roughly how much gold you have from all your gm credit that would be helpful for picking out items.

If you want divine healing then probably life oracle is your best bet. I would add spirit guide for access to a wider array of spells. Be a human, half elf or half orc for the extra spells known, half elf is preferable for access to paragon surge for all of those occasional use removal spells.

Forget divine casting! Build something that requires starting at high level, like a Slayer/Horizon Walker Dimensional Dervish build, or thrown weapon specialist with Belt of Greater Mighty Hurling.

For Healing + options how about a Dual-Cursed Life Oracle who uses Fateful Channel. Go crazy with rerolls!

Would definitely do the dimensional dervish thing, except I already have one of those, and the party has no divine at the moment

about 130,000gp from memory.

Grand Lodge

Caster Evangelist cleric.

I like enchantment specialist for fighting humaniods. Plenty of support ability in bardic perform.

Shaman also comes to mind. They are deceptively strong.

I concur on the shaman. It might look underwhelming when theorycrafted, but you can pull off some INSANE things with the class and feels very satisfying in actual play.

My lvl 6 dazing spiritual weapon focused shaman walking around in heavy armor with a non-proficiency tower shield and wandering hex agrees as well (See this alias' description).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If I were to make it I would make something like this:

Amelia, The Burning Heart
Level 11 Theologian Cleric/1 Crossblooded Sorcerer (Orc and Draconic)
Human
Str: 13
Dex: 10
Con: 16
Wis: 26
Int: 14
Cha: 14
BaB +8/+3
Saves 14/7/20
AC 34 Flatfooted AC 29 Touch AC: 12
HP 109

Traits: Wayang Spellhunter (Fireball), Magical Lineage (Fireball)
Feats:
(Human) Spell Focus: Evocation
1st: Greater Spell Focus: Evocation
3rd Empower Spell
5th Dazing Spell
7th Battle Cry
9th: Spell Specialization: Fireball
11th: Channeled Revival
Domain Secret: Fireball(intensify) Fire Seeds (Extend)

Belt of Mighty Constitution +4 16000
Headband of Inspired Wisdom +6 36000
Scarlet and Blue Sphere Ioun Stone slotted in wayfinder: 8000
Boots of Striding and Springing 5500
+3 Fullplate 10500
+3 Heavy Steel Shield 9000
Cloak of Resistance +4 16000
Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier 5000
Dusty Rose Prism Ioun Stone 5000
Pearl of Power (2nd) 4000

This is a variation on the Blaster build, but built as a Cleric. It gains the all important Fireball through the Fire Domain, and with theologian can apply intensify spell for free. This build gets intensified empowered fireballs as 3rd level spells, and intensified dazing fireballs as 4th level spells. Fire Seeds just seems like it would be fun to carry around a 10d4 +22 grenade, or pack all the holly berry bombs in a sack, have someone drop it near an enemy and run, than you say the word for average 144 fire damage, save for half to anything within 5ft.

While this build loses the versatility of the admixture wizard, it also has some of it's own merits. Much higher HP, ability to cast in armor, I calculated an ac of 34, that is if you have a druid casting barkskin on you with the pearl of power you give him for the spell slot, Having a high Charisma as a cleric helps with your channels, and opens the door for Battle Cry from ACG which will be available most combats, activates as a swift action, and gives a small boost + the all powerful reroll on saves

Channeled Revival I put in just because it is so strong to say "Nope, not dying today" but if you wanted to go more blasty you can pickup Heighten spell to start Heightening your Fireballs to boost those Save Dcs (I would just wait for 13 for heighten).

The rest of the items are just your regular boosting items, all together the cost on them is 115000, so you have room to fill in any weakness you can spot. If you are able to use the Qadira/Exchange prestige discount you've only spent 103500. I will mention taking a level in sorcerer opens up a whole bunch of options for wand and scroll usage which makes you very versatile.

The build is a work in progress, but this is my idea for it so far.

Thank you all for the help. You have all given me some great things to think about. Keep the ideas coming though.

I'm not dual cursed, but I am a life oracle with Fateful Channel right now...ugh, I love it SO much...

I second this. Having the chance to start at a high level means that you get to actually enjoy some of the more complex builds out there without having to suffer through the many levels it takes to bring them online. Might I suggest an Oradin build? It's a fantastic option for "divine caster, healing but with some other options", because you get a lot of low-investment healing power while still getting a lot of the martial goodness of the paladin. And, like I said, it's something that usually takes some time to come fully online, but getting to start at higher level means that you get to skip past all that to the fun parts! :)
