Ioun Stones and Animal Companions...Wayfinder?

Rules Questions

The "Duids Log: Animal Companions" thread indicates that an animal companion can use ioun stones in Pathfinder Society play. Is this still true, and if so, I have a few questions.

1. Do they need to take the Extra Slot feat to use them?

2. Can they use an unlimited number of them?

3. Can they use a wayfinder to get the extra abilities of one of the stones?

1. No, but they need int 3+ in order to benefit from an iounstone.
2. Just like a player, yes
3. Good question, gut feeling says no, but I wouldn't be able to point to a ruling.

Animal Companions using Ioun Stones is actually in the FAQ. All you need as an Intelligence of 3 or higher to activate them. They're slotless, so no feat required.

As to benefitting from the resonance power of a Wayfinder, which is also slotless, my initial thoughts would be that it works (but I'll reserve the right to change that stance if needed).

I've been giving the resonance power a bit of thought, and while my initial feeling was to say no, I'd say they'd be able to benefit from it provided they have saddlebags or something similar to carry the wayfinder in.

Could you hang the wayfinder on a rope or chain, and wear it as a necklace/belt or similar?

And that goes back to the sunrod on a rope around the 2H fighter's neck...
