Max character level?

Giantslayer

I can't seem to find any reference to the level the characters will be at the end of the AP. I'd like to know if only to plan out my build. Is there anything out there clearing this up?

Scarab Sages

It says in the product discussion for the last book that you should be starting at level 15 and probably finishing at level 17:

This is more or less the default assumption of APs, probably because it means that casters will have access to their highest level of spells in the final battle.

The only exceptions so far: Council of Thieves and Jade Regent both go to 15th level, while Wrath of the Righteous stands as the only AP to go all the way to 20th level (as well as providing a full progression of mythic tiers).

To my knowledge, the only PF APs that don't go up to 17th level are Council of thieves, Carrion Crown, Jade Regent and Wrath of the Righteous.
WotR goes up to 20th, Council of thieves was counting xp with the 3.5 xp tables in mind, Carrion Crown didn't want powerful PCs in order to reinforce it's horror themes (that's why it gives very little wealth and very little to do with the wealth they have), that leaves only Jade Regent not going up to 17th level for no apparent reason.
Since there is no apparent reason for Giantslayer to not go up to 17th I expect that it will follow the norm.

so for those that have the first book what does that say this particular AP tops out at, i have eleven AP s so i know they say:-)

Looks like 17th is correct, the last book should run from 15-17 according to my pdf copy of book 1.

Another Exception is King Maker at 18th.

Scarab Sages

Skull and Shackles maxes at 15 as well.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

According to book 6 of Kingmaker PCs end up at level 17.
