In Anticipation of EE: 24 Hour Challenge!

Pathfinder Online

When EE arrives, we will have nothing. I want to see just how fast we can make something from nothing!

The settlement that can post the most screen shots of a completed +1 item (crafted, not refined) within 24 hours of the start of EE (time TBD) will get props and a prize.

Any crafted +1 item is valid for this competition.

The winner will pick the item from the list of items they completed and I will personally supply them with 100 units of each of the raw materials required to complete that item.

Screen shots must be posted below, showing the item in your inventory with the server time on the mini-map.

Just making sure - the settlement that posts the most screen shots of a completed crafted item of +1 or better wins? Sounds like a lot of screen shots.

A Few additional rules:

1. It doesn't matter who takes the screen shot or posts the screen shot. But do be sure to attribute it to the correct settlement when you post it here or it will not count.

2. Format for the shots: Have your Inventory window open and on the RIGHT, with the item on display in the list there. Have your Character Sheet open and on display on the LEFT. Have yourself targeted in the middle. Make sure the server time is clearly visible.

3. You do not have to post the images within the first 24 hours. You do have to take the images within the first 24 hours.

4. At your option, you can wait to see what you have completed at/near the end of the 24 hour period, then take one screen shot with all the items visible in your inventory. This screen shot still has to be completed before 24 hours are up!

Finally, whoever posts the FIRST +1 item to this thread will get 25 units of each of the mats to make that item :)

Goes without saying that contest is for most items, not most screenshots.

Goes without saying that the largest guilds (in those 24 hours) have a clear advantage. Large for being the first, huge for making the most.

Goes without saying that Sspitfire may not be able to deliver the full reward immediately...

I like the twist that the value of the reward depends on the item. This would be very risky to offer if it was more than 24 hours (unless you know where to find 100 yellow/green or whatever is hardest to get nowadays).

now, what day is EE again?

Are you restricitng this to items made from a +1 recipe ?

If not, I predict the first +1 crafted item within the first few hours just by random upgrade.

Any way you can make it!

"Forum Firsts" ....... Joy! /sarcasm

I guess my first full day will be doing nothing but grinding Goblin kills with 3-5 weapons, probably hit 1000 Goblin kills by end of first weekend.

I thought we only got random upgrades for Refined items, not for Crafted items. The OP explicitly states crafted, not refined.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think what he meant people crafting things from randomly upgraded refined goods rather than recipe-based upgraded refined goods. At least, that is how I took it.

I have seen +3 generate +4, but I have not seen +0 generate +1.

I have! I produced a couple batches of +0 Cotton Thread and got 2 +1 Cotton Thread out of 60 units produced. Its more common with recipes that produce large quantities, like Cotton Thread, Leather Strips, and Steel Blanks.

I got 49 +0 Steel Wire and 1 +1 Steel Wire out of two batches I made.

Yep, that makes sense.

Yeah basically something like a +1 steel bullet or +1 steel dagger could easily be made from random upgrade components.

And the iconographer can make an apprentices charge gem from a single lesser vital gem produced by gemologist. This (+0) is a basic spell and only requires 5 Lesser vital (Cracked Bloodstone, Flawed Bloodstone, Intact Bloodstone, Perfect Bloodstone, Perfect Onyx) which can be found by miner or scavenger.

I do not have recollection of how many are produced, but a lot of those initial recipes make 6 items. This only has 5 items going in, so 5 or less would be better estimate. If 20 output we're needed to get 1 +1, that is 4 recipes and 20 gathered lesser vital. If you are in right area this could be in a couple hours.

Edit: It is more complicated as 3 copper ore are also required. I was going by entry in Crafting 9-19-14 which does not list the Copper. I need to find an up to date version.

I have had a +2 Yew Stave from a +0 recipe, and just this morning a +5 basic leather sheet from a +3 recipe.

Which makes me wonder if it is worth trying to make Piecemeal Brigantine +4. Do you think there is an upgraded skin for it?

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Yes - there is a random +1 or even +2 for all levels of crafting. With +1 and +2 a lot more economic as +3 it is of worthwhile just to craft +2 and take the occasional +3.

Especially as from a use perspective tier 2 is easier to use as +3 as it needs less training.

Yes there is and yes you should, then show it to me :) What do you need for making it?

This is still a thing, yall!

EDIT: The new player pack items do not count!
