What I mean by really strong is something like:
- when faced with a monster that is immune to weapons, the PC tears the monster's arm clean off (like Beowulf did to Grendel. Beowulf had the "grip of thirty men in his hand")
and at a really mythic level
- when a big object is falling over and threatening to squash something immobile but important, the PC can keep it from falling, at least for a minute (like the oil rig scene from Man of Steel or the wall scene from Spiderman (2?))
I cannot figure out how to do it. I understand that this gets into the realm of Superheroes, but I'd like to see how it might be done anyway.

My high level Mythic Human Tetori actually re-enacted the Beowulf-Grendel thing (fitting, since he was the reincarnation of Beowulf).
But that's more flavor (except that Grendel had a very high Regeneration only stopped by Unarmed Strikes).
Mechanically, the closest you can get is the Disabling Strike Mythic Champion ability. Or a "Debilitating Blow" with the Called Shot alternate rules to the arm.
The second you just stand under it and have a high Str score. And you can hold it all day long so long as it falls within your maximum "Lift over head" capacity.
My Barbarian (17th level) could do it while Raging, easily. He can lift something on the order of 4 tons (more if in his Earth Elemental Form and has Ant Haul up, which brings it somewhere on the order of 68 thousand pounds).

There are two different tasks here.
Task one: Tear someone apart using bare hands. This is an application of grapple rules. Make a Tetori.
Task two: Catch/Lift really heavy things. This is more difficult, but get your STR high as possible via starting points, race, level up, enhancement bonuses, and tomes. Add on the Ant Haul spell or Muleback cords. Add Giant Form spells to add size increases. You can lift up to twice your maximum load and stagger around, and when you boost your STR that can be quite high.

OK, this was sitting there and I missed it.
Universal Mythic Hero Path Ability
Display of Strength (Su): As a free action, you can expend one use of mythic power to attempt a feat of Strength, gaining a +20 circumstance bonus on one Strength-based skill check or Strength ability check. Alternatively, you can use this ability to apply a +20 circumstance bonus to your Strength score for a number of hours equal to your mythic tier for the purpose of determining your carrying capacity
That'd help with the lifting thing. The other attack things are good for the fighting part.
