Who are we?

The Kabal is an extended family, looking out for each other and anyone else that we decide needs looking after, sometimes through a mutual agreement, and sometimes because we said so. Success derives itself from a set of core values that govern the guild. We strive not only to be unified, and have fun! As with any successful guild, member participation is key. We are a community of mature adults (some more than others lawl), veteran gamers. Below are some of our core guild goals, rules, policies etc... that prospective members should know before joining.

Where are we going?

We have members waiting to dominate Trade, Crafting, Magic, Ass-Kickery, drinking until you can't stand, Wenching, whatever the female version of wenching is called, Warfare, and laying down the law (for the laws that don't suck anyway). We intend to have our hands into a little of everything. What specifically we 'specialize' in is not set in stone. Obviously it will depend on where we end up, what resources are available to us, who our friendly neighbors are, and how many people in the guild want to do any one thing.

Our current goal is, to have fun and play PFO as a team continuing to beat all new challenges implemented by the developers. To run outstanding events for our members, To adventure together and have a great time doing it, And to continue to add value to the PFO community at every opportunity. As for why you would want to join us, if you want a excellent group of friends to enjoy this game with, and a group that will push your skills, and help you pursue whatever weird ass goal you decide to come up with. This is them.

Political Goals/Alignments? Military/Protection, Magic/Research, Craft/Trade, Politics/being a crappy bard.

As for general alignment, or political/social intentions. We are all looking to be good in general, but nobody is perfect. We will make alliances or go to war as makes sense or is necessary. We are a mature group of individuals looking to have some fun and be a little crazy, but not to be anonymous online jerks who make people want to quit the game. In fact that's one of the few things we will kick you out for, and kill you repeatedly for. That all being said we are going to be NG in alignment doesn't mean we won't take just NG characters, but that is our primary alignment however for you evil folks best to look elsewhere.

We have a settlement in the North West part of the map called Stoneroot Glade. It has the amenities of Rogue and Wizard trainers. We have access to the Crafting, Fighter, and Cleric trainers through mutual agreements with folks.

We have a trade agreement with Alderwag settlement Link and we are allied with Talonguard Link & Tavernhold Link
Kabal, Tavernhold, & Talonguard make up what is the High Road Covenant Alliance

Company Info

We have 3 Companies in our settlement.

Rancourous Ash Crickets- At the forefront of the Kabal you will find the RAC. Leading the fight against monsters, outlaws, kingdoms, boredom, and common sense in general.

The RAC will distinguish itself as the premier fighting force of the Kabal, covering all professions and combat styles. Coordinating with the other Kabal companies and their specialties providing any and all support needed for them to safely accomplish their goals, or augment their efforts with specialists for specific tasks or goals.

RAC will pursue perfection in all forms of warfare, providing the Kabal with a solid fighting core for all the other companies to draw upon. We will provide training, knowledge and guidance to all Kabal companies to increase their martial abilities.

When crime, conflict, and war call upon the Kabal and its allies the Rancourous Ash Crickets will be the first to answer, and the last to leave the field.

“Even when it seems quiet and you feel alone, you can always hear the crickets…”

Membership in the RAC is open to any class or race, with the exception of those without martial skills. Sponsorship is required by a current member of the RAC or any Kabal company leader. Those who are sponsored will be brought into the RAC at the lowest rank for their chosen combat style and profession.

Promotion out of the lowest tier of ranks is required to remain a member of the RAC. Those who fail to gain promotion will be moved to a secondary company and may be sponsored again at a later time.

Members of the RAC will be promoted and demoted as needed due to their skills and the needs of the company.

Application to the RAC can be done through the recruitment forms, once you have secured a sponsor from a current member.

Alabaster Hands of Pain- Welcome friends to the halls and gardens of Stoneroot Glade,

All that you see, everything you touch and taste, all things cultivated and built by mortals are the product of the Hands.

Alabaster. Simple, Strong, Beautiful, and infinitely malleable. The hands will always strive to create that which is stong, beautiful, and serves its purpose with simple efficiency. We will always seek to provide that which is needed by our Kabal brothers and sisters, and when possible provide for our friends and allies. Homes, clothing, weapons, food, potions, all things required now and in the future. We must always strive to change and grow, to be malleable, thus crafted ourselves into what is needed by the Kabal.

All those who seek to master the arts of creating and sustaining a community, settlement, or kingdom will find themselves at home within the Hands. Be your passion farming, mining, weaving, masonry, blacksmithing, or governance we will help you master it. We will be the hands that guide the growth of the Kabal, and its settlements, allies, and peoples. Together our hands will grow, harvest, build, and create from nothing that which others will look upon with awe.

Built upon our blood and sweat, the settlements of the Kabal will inherit our strength of purpose.
Defended with our Arms and armor, the enemies of the Kabal will feel our wrath.
Nourished and healed by our crafts, the people of the Kabal will know our kindness.
Through the pains of our Labour we will bring life to all places the Kabal are present.

Alabaster Hands of Pain

Membership among the AHoP is open to all, regardless of class or race. The only requirement is a desire to serve others and build together that which is greater than any could achieve alone. Sponsorship by a existing Hand is desired, but not required, but all hands must be brothers and sisters of the Kabal. Those who seek to be hands will be given an apprenticeship, and advanced upon successful completion of their apprenticeship. Continuing through the company ranks will require tireless work, and perfection of a chosen craft or profession.

Knowledgeable, patient, and skilled hunters, all make up the core of what is Fancy Lads.
The Fancy Lads is a company involving rogues and their subtypes.

If you join Kabal and you are a rogue or one of its subtypes we implore you to take a strong look at the Fancy Lads. We will take other classes that aren’t roguish in nature, but our size will have a cap of 50 and you may be traded/transferred to a company that is more appropriate to your role type if you are not an outright rogue or its subtype.

Our focus is building a strong Company with good relationships through good recruiting and teamwork. We are currently looking for members of all roles who wish to positively contribute to our Company. If it’s fancy we do it. It could involve a route on an assault on a keep (go go tumble build), possible assassinations, and general entertainment in taverns and the back door deals gong on in them. What we do will have style and be very Fancy I assure you.

Our Company involving mainly rogues and their variations such as but not limited to:

Bards

Rangers

Rogues

Gunslingers

Ninjas

Hunters

Investigators

Skalds

Slayers

Swashbucklers

Scouts

Bounty Hunters

We will take other roles as not listed here to accommodate our efficiency for parties. Cause we will need healers and crafters. To help fuel our Fancy Operations and the like.

So how does one go about becoming a Fancy Lad? Well I’m glad you asked. The answer is simple join the Kabal. And if a current Fancy Lad member sponsors you, you will be inducted as a Hireling into the Fancy Lads for a trial period of 1 month. After that trial period is over a vote will be cast by Pick Pocket ranked members and higher and if it passes you will be promoted into the Pick Pockets as full-fledged member of Fancy Lads.

What if I fail the vote? Not to worry my friend not all is lost. A short interview will be had with you to determine if Fancy Lads is the right company for you and if it is will work with you and give you another month to prove that you belong with the Fancy Lads and another vote will be cast. If it’s determined this probably isn’t the right fit, you will get dismissed from the Fancy Lads and moved into another Kabal company.

Well that’s it for now. If you have any questions feel free to hit our questions and answer Faq page found here (Place Holder) and you will get a response in a timely fashion or a fashionably late response. We are the Fancy Lads and we will be involved in a plethora of things in the River Kingdoms, and I hope you will join us for a Fancy good time. Time is money and I must leave you now to pursue getting more of it.

Guild Rules

Rule 1.) Don’t Be a Dick

Rule 2.) Have Fun

Rule 3.) We expect all members to ensure that all actions they take are done in the mindset of 'guild first'. Anything a member does reflect on the overall guild image and on all fellow members. We expect members to only take actions that reflect positively on the guild image that we have worked very hard to build and maintain over the years.

Rule 4.) It is not permitted to relay any information outside the guild, for any reason, at any time. We do not share information with the public except through official channels and officially sanctioned outlets. Therefore no member should reveal any information, no matter how minor they may think it is, outside the guild.

Rule 5.) Participate In Guild Events. Hunts, Raids, Events and other in game activities occur all the time. You are expected to take part in as many of them as possible. We understand people have lives and cannot live within the online world and that is ok. But if you are online, and we are having a guild event of some sort, you need to be there and participating in it. Actively working against the guild on any mission will result in immediate and permanent removal. (This includes being on our Mumble Server when you are online)

Rule 6.) We are a TEAM of FRIENDS. Backing up your guildmates is expected because they will do the same for you. Members understand that sometimes personal character sacrifice is needed for the team to complete a mission. We don't view it as personal sacrifice, however, because we are helping out a friend and that is more important than loot or pixels on a screen. Games come and go. The friendships within it, remain.

Rule 7.) Members may not use cheats or exploits

Rule 8.) Personal attacks on other members is not permitted. Handle issues with another player 1 on 1, in a mature professional way. Seek a leaders help if needed, but do not personally attack other members.

Rule 9.) In the field or during an event, you must follow the directions or orders of the officer or appointed guild member in charge immediately. Debate about the situation can happen later.

Rule 10.) All other rules refer to Rule 1.)

The Kabal believes strongly in being a positive influence in the community. We encourage members to become involved the community and to have a positive impact on it. We recognize those members that do become involved and go above and beyond simply "playing games" for entertainment.

In Stoneroot we prefer to call Goblin Balls "Golarion Oysters". Get a frying pan, little bitta garlic, little bitta butta, mmmm.

Yeah, but most of them are only Neutral Good. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

And just to clarify on Caldeathe's point, that is the base alignment for the companies and settlement. We usually take people 1 step up or down from the core alignment.

Goblin Squad Member

A Lawsuit.

Or a job.

Correct Caldeathe it is a lawsuit!

Goblin Squad Member

A lawsuit about breasts?

As an aside, did you know we are only two players away from moving into 4th place [ok, 3 if Sunnfire doesn't approve our person waiting for approval]?

I want my computer! Darn! IT!!!!!

Goblin Squad Member

Still in 5th with the same person waiting for approval. Let's get a couple more folks to join us this weekend and head for 4th Place!

Goblin Squad Member

Nope. still not on. Hope to see if an old hard drive can work for me. :-(

Goblin Squad Member

Don't worry, we've saved a few zillion goblins and skeletons around Stoneroot for you to play with :P

Whisper:
But seriously man, get back in here. These little buggers are starting to squeeze in under the doors!

Goblin Squad Member

Hey guys n gals,
I don't plan on spending any time on PFO in it's current form.
If that means being de-guilded, then so be it, I'll understand.
In all seriousness I really hope those of you that are enjoying the game continue to do so!

I'll try it out again in a few months.

Goblin Squad Member

No worries mate. People in the guild plan entry at different stages in the game's development. Those posting on paizo tend to be the early adopters. There will still be guildies coming in for the first time in a few months.

Goblin Squad Member

Wow! We now have 5 applicants waiting for approval to join Kabal in the Land Rush. Puts us up at 91 if all are approved and moves us up to the 4th largest settlement/village in the game.

Need 113 to take over third place from those evil guys.

Goblin Squad Member

Kabal - the place where you can come home, find somebody still up at 2:11 am, sit down kind of woozily, and watch Everybody Loves Raymond, but really not know what the &)*!?$ is going on.

Goblin Squad Member

We almost dropped off the first page!

So let me ask a question. How many here would love to have PFO be ready and able to go live on Christmas Day?

Goblin Squad Member

I'd love for it to go live this weekend :D

But I do like the progress plan Ryan has laid out, and it will take the time its going to take.

Goblin Squad Member

True. Stability first then the rest then live.

All Kabal recruitment is now being handled through our good friends at Ozem's Vigil.

...Honest.

What?

Goblin Squad Member

Khaio wrote:

You betcha. If you haven't yet already, drop by at our website, take a look around and introduce yourself. A few of us keep our eyes on things here but most are watching the Kabal site for news.

If you happen to be in game, there is often a couple of us on, usually around Rathglen or somewhere in the northwest highlands. With chat going to hex wide, Rathglen is your best bet if you wanted to put a call out.

And Cal, don't worry I'm trying to get Sunnfire to fast track approval for all of Ozem's Vigil to join Kabal as soon as he can.

...That's what you meant, right? :P

Goblin Squad Member

That's absolutely what I meant.

Only need 22 new recruits to kick that evil Golgatha out of 3rd place!

here, here.

I do hope you get the recruits.

Goblin Squad Member

Could someone have Sunnfire or a designated representative contact me about regaining control of "Fancy Lads" and its 21 Towers, or let me know if he'd rather I just move its allegiance to Ozem's Vigil now and avoid the paperwork when EE starts?

Cal, leader (for now, though I sense a potential for mutiny) of Fancy Lads

;-P

Goblin Squad Member

Sorrry man, you didn't pass the test for leadership. Some groups might demand the best and brightest to lead them, some may go for trial by combat or proof of arcane might and knowledge, but for The Fancy Lads you prove your worth with your Fancy Dance. I'd suggest to start by mastering a Fancy Walk first, but your welcome to come back and try again after levelling up some smooth moves :D

I think you thought I was joking?

Cal
(Who recently bought Pexx's DT account, and is the proud new owner of "Athira," Sole Leader of "Fancy Lads")

How's that for an inaugural Fancy Dance?

Goblin Squad Member

As a Fancy Lad cleric in a rogue/wizard settlement I already do all my cleric training at Ozem's Vigil! I hope you and Sunnfire work things out, but since it's just Alpha I actually wouldn't mind seeing a merger with Ozem's. How many towers do you guys have anyway? Where do you plan to do your crafting and AH training?

Goblin Squad Member

I imagine the citizens of Stoneroot will always be welcome for training in OV. Last I looked we had around 20 towers, so should be pretty good for training you if we can get allied.

I don't think we have a good plan for our crafter training, though I expect we'll visit either Callambea or Talonguard. It would be really nice if Alderwag or Guardheim were able to step up to the plate.

Our rogues and wizards are already visiting Stoneroot regularly, so I expect we'll be seeing lots of each other.

Bit leaden footed, but Athira should at least bring you up to this.

In the spirit of cooperation and 'goodness', is it possible to have 'training days'? Several settlements could band their towers temporarily to train. It would be a nice test here to realign large companies to multiple settlements a few times.

It sounds like you're suggesting that several nearby Settlements would all allow a single Settlement to take all the nearby Towers so that Settlement could provide higher level Training.

That wouldn't really be very useful, because, during the War of Towers, your Training and Support are both limited by the number of Towers your Settlement controls. As soon as the Towers reverted to their "rightful" owners, the temporarily inflated Settlement would no longer Support the Training it had offered, and it's not likely any of the other Settlements would either.

Goblin Squad Member

Nihimon's got the crux of it.

I think the best we can do, within small alliances, is to carefully manage our towers so that at least three nearby settlements have what is needed. That would, however, mean that other groups would have to accept giving up the long-term benefits of holding towers (whatever DI bonus buildings GW assigns to groups based on average holdings during the war.

There will be hurt feeling, regardless. I only hope that the smaller groups can either reach a comfortable decision, or find a lot more people pretty quickly.

Not suggesting, just wondering.

What about crafting? I have crafters who can do Tier 2 stuff now even though they lost their training.

Even just for combat getting the training in as soon as possible is still better than not getting any at all.

If it comes time to protect ourselves and use that training an alliance of smaller settlements would be ideal for boosting everyone in times of aggression from larger settlements.
