As the subject line states, I am doing an interest check for a PbP game I'd like to try and run. Both are essentially homebrew.
First option is the Space Opera. As Conquest of the Universe hasn't been released yet (patiently waiting on that one), I'd most likely just use the Santiago conversion of magic to tech. Essentially, it would be 'Pathfinder... IN SPAACE!'
I have a few new custom alien races available, but most other races are available (elves, dwarves, etc.).
The second option is the Fantasy Western setting I've been working on. For this one, I would most likely take some published adventure(s) and reflavor them. Races and classes are limited, and I have two alternate classes I've worked on: the maverick (rogue), and lawbringer (paladin).
Please, let me know if there is an interest for these here.

Well, the Space Opera game would be a mix of Firefly, Star Wars, and Dragonstar for the general feel. Classes available would be the following:
- Core Classes (with archetypes from the Technology Guide and the Santiago Player’s Guide)
- Classes introduced in Santiago (Cyborg, Engineer, Medic)
- LPJ's Machinesmith
- Psionics Unleashed classes
Races include:
- Most Core races (each from a different world)
- People of the Stars races
- Reflavored ARG races (also from unique homeworlds)
The Fantasy Western would be akin to the Wild Arms games, mixed with some other things. Classes available would be the following:
- Firearm or Mounted centric archetypes for the core and base classes
- Brawler, Hunter, Shaman, and Swashbuckler from the ACG
- Class options and new class from Pure Steam (Chaplain)
- Classes from the Terah Project (Charlatan, Spark)
- Most Gunslinger-based MCA’s from Multiclass Archetypes (spellgun magus is absolutely allowed)
- Maverick (rogue alternate class) and Lawbringer (paladin alternate class) – custom alternate classes I’ve cobbled together
Races include:
- Humans (including variants from Pure Steam)
- Dwarves (Pure Steam variants)
- Elves – tribal culture (with desert runner, silent hunter, or woodcraft alternate racial traits)
- Half-elves
- Half-orcs (not really a half-breed, but their own race called the Orgeth. Common alternate racial traits include beastmaster and sacred tattoo)
- Halflings (Pure Steam variants)
- Catfolk (called the Elgatos – have a central American/Hispanic culture. Yes, I know it’s cliché, but the idea came from the Puss in Boots movie)
- Dhampirs
- Tengus
- Kitsune
- Other races require my approval. Also, dhampirs, tengus and kitsune are rarely accepted in most settlements

Tally so far...

- The Little King
- Tiny Coffee Golem
- SAMAS
- Drogeney
- Zain Ashvale
- A Mite Excessive
Fantasy Western
- The Little King
- Nohwear
- SAMAS

Let me know if I missed anyone.

Those all scratch enough of my Outlaw Star itch for me to be 150% down for the Space Opera. Now I'll just be trying to keep a lid on my brainstorming and wait patiently until the check runs it's course and you make your decision. I'd also not be adverse to joining up in the Fantasy Western game since that looks quite interesting as well

Forgot to add Outlaw Star to the list. Oh, and Wildstar (I'm pretty sure the spellslinger from Wildstar is MOSTLY influenced by Gene Starwind). Oh, Tenchi Muyo too (not GXP, I don't like GXP), and Martian Successor Nadesico (mecha baby)... And Trigun...
Hrm... Add spellgun magus from MCA to the Space Opera class list.

I'm working on polishing up information for both settings, such as weapons and a psychic warrior/psion prestige class (or archetype, can't decide what to make it yet) for the space opera setting.
Seems I have an even number of people interested in both. I may keep this interest check open till next weekend, then decide which setting to run a game in.

Santiago Player's Guide (free download)
For the homebrew stuff, once the setting is determined, I'll put the stuff for that setting on a google doc most likely. Don't have my own webpage anymore, otherwise I'd put it on one.

About what level would we be? Aroun 5ish maybe?
For the space opera, it all depends on what kind of game and role the players want.. Mercenaries, soldiers, outlaws, fighter pilot, etc. Also depends on if they want to be already established or start from nothing to make a name for themselves.
For. The fantasy western it will be 1st.

Updated List
Space Opera
- The Little King
- Tiny Coffee Golem
- SAMAS
- Drogeney
- Zain Ashvale
- A Mite Excessive
- Shinrin Fukushu
- Jarred Henninger
- Viluki
- Lord Foul II
- Elf King[/list
Fantasy Western[list]
- The Little King
- Nohwear

- Drogeney
- Viluki
Looks like Space Opera is winning so far.
Oh, another update. There are more than just horses for mounts in the Fantasy Western (such as riding birds... aka chocobos, but without the magic).

Oh, and a word about Gunslingers, both Space Opera and Fantasy Western... I use the alternate deeds list from the Ultimate Options - Grit and Gunslingers product. Basically, instead of having ONLY the 3 deeds at each level available, you select 3 from a list instead. Allows more customization IMO. Archetypes that replace deeds instead add the deed to the list, but said deed MUST be one of the 3 chosen.

Dotting for space. I never could get -really- into westerns. Your list is extensive enough to include basically everything I enjoy from space shows. There've been a few more recent ones that weren't on the list, but I'd have to have time to dredge up all the names, if you wanted more recommendations just for the 'what I want to watch' side of things. :)
I'm cool with just about anything besides 'evil for the sake of evil' or 'chaos for the sake of chaos' on the basic idea of theme. Rebellions, exploration, galactic commandoes... whatever really works, for the most part. I'm unsure of what I'd play at this time, though...
I prefer to start at lower levels, and work towards being awesome. :) Likewise, Ship-based anything is greatly preferred, methinks.

Azih |

Hrm, I'd like to play a haunted oracle of the heavens for the space opera game (waif, young girl, something odd from the depths of the void has taken a liking to her)
For the Fantasy Western would you consider allowing the Sacred Fist archetype of Warpriest? Seems to be better than the Monk class and would be somwhat similar to Kwai Chang Caine from the old Kung Fu TV series.

If you're not going for overly gritty with the eventual theme, what I'm thinking about pretty heavily is android summoner. The concept combines the idea of Genius Loci and Outlaw Star to some degree. Flavor-wise, the character would create a 'platform' for use by themself and others. Think of it as a character who makes its own ship. Might have to jump through some hoops to make it anything besides a glorified horse, though. :)
