Hi all,
I want to build a character, but i'm not sure about what class/multiclass/homebrew i should choose. I hope someone can give some good suggestions.
The backstory is that the character is a small time thief that stole from wizard, and therefor was cursed and changed into a raccoon. When the wizard needed some assistance in retrieving something he misplaced he changed him back. After some time they became friends and he lifted the curse and gave him the power to change his shape to become more stealthy and gain better climbing abilities to reach difficult places. This came in handy for spying and heists.
I want to create this characters, preferably within the lines of the official rules. I was thinking about a roque or investigator, with trap finding ability, and a sword/rapier for combat.
I would like the change the shape into a raccoon/cat/dog/rat/bird and other small or medium creatures. I saw there was a infiltrator archetype for the investigator, but he drops trap finding and only can change for a few minutes into a beast.
If I would multicast Druid this would add the wild shape ability so he could change for longer durations, but the other Druid skills are not needed. Also a ranger Druid could get some nice feats to make up for the loss in growth due to multiclassing, a rogue or investigator doesn't have this bonus.
What do you think a nice build would be? Grant the power as a background trait in stead of some roque features? Use a other combination of classes or archetypes? I'm curious what you think :-)
