Speculation: They're switching to Final Fantasy 7 combat. Party on the left side of the screen, enemies on the right. Attack/Defend/Spell/Item/Flee!
(Why 7? Because it's the only one I've played. Wait, that's not true. I played 2 on a phone a few years ago.)
Edit: Maybe with Chrono Trigger combos thrown in! Dwarf fighter grabs elf mage's ankles. The mage casts Burning Hands, while the fighter spins through the enemies! Human barbarian throws halfling alchemist, who then throws bombs all around his/her landing point.
Please consider posting it here. The GW site is.... not doing well.
Speculation, push back of EE to October 1. There is still much that has not been tested.

With all the discussions about how to fix ranged combat I think it is much more likely they will switch to space invaders for the combat system.

We will probably post the blog tomorrow. A couple of unresolved questions still circulating that need to be finalized before we post.
And no, we're not announcing any changes to the start of Early Enrollment.

I think they will surprise us by introducing time traveling monkey ninjas.

Is it okay if I press F5 until then?

While you are waiting for the blog, you can go read the write up for the survey results.
How about now?.............or now?

I was going to post "F5," then thought it really makes a bit of a mess of Ryan's nice thread, so instead I'll meander on about not posting "F5".
I wonder if Ryan ever feels like a school teacher with 150 A.D.D. twelve-year-olds....

I think that additional posts about hitting F5, punctuated by commentary about the philosophical underpinning of F5-ness itself, and containing reviews of the history of the effectiveness of F5-ing, could serve the community well until the need to F5 passes...if it ever can.

No 12 seems about right since the average 12 year old routinely act like a 2 year old.
Internal server error now.

Actually 12 year olds are generally still in the rules-based behaviors, although females have already begun to form the myelin sheathing that acts as an insulator for the brain's neural axons allowing entire tracts of the brain to come online and leads to the questioning and abstract reasoning skills that are so important to adults. The following year the males begin to see these changes.
This is exactly why so many adolescents grow rebellious in their early teens: They are comparing what they have been taught (the rules) with what adults actually do... and most adults are found rather wanting compared to ideals.
Idealism is rightly thought a trait of the young. Thank goodness I never grew up...

At an office near Seattle
the panicked workers prattle:
"The new goblin blog
was devoured by Zog,
don't go on the forums to tattle!"
Hail Zog!
You already ate the blog,
Please don't eat us, too!

In other news, the website is now back to normal lightning fast update speed.
Looks like it might be one more tomorrow for the blog.
They must be addressing some really tricky stuff this week, either in terms of technical difficulty, or in choosing a "best fit solution." (Or some from Column A, and some from Column B.)
PREPARE FOR THE RISE OF THE MELEE!!!!!!
Very good stuff in this blog.
I might get superstitious soon, and start thinking that whenever I say "maybe tomorrow" the blog will appear!
Husk nodes! That's great. Battlefield scavengers should look suitably creepy, kneeling over a corpse and picking stuff off of it.
Good stuff. Some are things that will be inconvenient for the individual, but all seem like they are good for the game.

I WIN!!!! HAHAHAHAH!!! j/k
I think this will sate, at least temporarily, blood-lusting members of the community :) I approve of all proposed changes.
I anticipate much wailing and gnashing of teeth, likely from me.
But it will still be glorious :)
Major Announcement!
Fanndis Goldbraid has won the first Miss River Kingdoms Beauty Pageant! Her rendition of "All Hail the Five Kings Mountains" was sung beautifully, and she remained unhurt when she was thrown from the Shaggy Wool Mountain Goat she was riding when she performed. Miss Goldbraid wore her pot steel swimsuit like no other in the history of the pageant, although she did have to make a quick costume change when the lightning storm came through!
A lot of this seems really good. The husk sounds funny, but I am willing to try it. Player targeting is a huge plus. I do hope there is some non-rep-loss pvp before WoT even if it's, as I said, free hexes.
I won't say anything negative about ranged. The decision has been made, and I am willing to try it before I make any comments.
Is there no notes on the recipes? I doubt they will be retroactively fixed, but that would be nice.
well, if you target someone with bottomed out rep, I think you only lose 10 rep, tops.
Does "various adjustments to resources and loot" include fixing the party loot bug, in which items like recipes were being split into non-functional fragments?
Robert Hodgson wrote: well, if you target someone with bottomed out rep, I think you only lose 10 rep, tops. You should gain rep. no way to tell how many people will have bad rep, either. I just wanna see some pvp. I want to go fight a real fight. Dunno what the harm of adding some pvp hexes (similar to the free pvp a tower hex would have except... pre tower.)

I don't think it will retroactively fix broken recipes, though, sorry.
KarlBob wrote: Proxima Sin of Brighthaven wrote: PREPARE FOR THE RISE OF THE MELEE!!!!!! Use the bow to bring them in. Use the sword to finish them off. Just shield charge then whirlwind with the right reactive feats set to go off.
I have been doing melee since it began and actually found it more effective than ranged a lot of the time. Especially with low level mobs.
The big difference in melee is you need to actually think about the synergy between feats and also between feats and gear and choose what you train and slot and what order you do stuff in carefully.

I don't think it will retroactively fix broken recipes, though, sorry. A method to drop or destroy those broken recipes (along with any other unwanted stuff you collect) would be nice in that case
Stephen, do you think we could get one of the Devs to trade out broken recipes?
Has the accidental targeting been addressed?
What is the purpose behind the mouse cursor automatically adjusting to center screen?
Will we still lose 9000+ Reputation from a single kill?

I might actually start using my dual short swords instead of my short bow constantly. Currently there has been little reason to use my short swords besides achievements.
I would like a function to get rid of items, especially all those broken recipes.
Great stuff. I hope sound, animations, and combat are continually being worked on throughout even though we don't hear about them in these updates. They really need some tweaks to make the game feel more solid.

I don't think it will retroactively fix broken recipes, though, sorry. Not fixing existing recipes is okay with me. Knowing that it's fixed, I'll be more willing to play in a party.
Bluddwolf wrote: Will we still lose 9000+ Reputation from a single kill? God knows probably. Its the only thing keeping me out of PvP right now.
Will there be a character reset on Saturday, or will we keep these characters until the day of EE?
