For those players, $15/mo is a steal.Mm, I dont know, dazzling fleshed out artwork and worlds with high quality voice acting and cut scenes as well as incredible instanced dungeons containing high quality quest mechanics and boss fights would be the bare minimum. For me Wildstar was worth the price of retail and a fun trip to the end game. How close will PFO come to touching those types of projects? The graphics and detail I think are going to fall short of WAR and possibly even DAOC which is a 15 year old game. Again, it has the ideas and social system to draw population, but for how long after people have tasted it. $15/month I can afford, I just think it's too much to retain the population PFO needs to make the game work. Hell, Secret World is a $29 one-time purchase now. I'm just saying not all of the playerbase is going to be mistified by just how 'cool' the diplomacy system is and shell out triple-a prices. I wish they would but just stating my feedback for the sake of success.
To my mind if you are comparing those with this then you don't understand PFO.
Understand the product/service, evaluate its value to you (and yours), and if the value you reasonably expect to realize is worth whatever $15/Mo to you then commit. Else, do not.

Just for that pun, you can have the next one I get, if nobody beats me to the punch.
Goat. Sheep. Whatever gets me into Alpha sooner rather than later *goatish grin*

Apparently I can do public reports. Here is one on the general demographics of respondents and a few of the less sensitive questions.

For your personal final product vision of what PFO should be, rank these four items in order of importance to you. Assign numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. Do not assign any number twice or your response will be invalid. Please rank this from 1 to 4 Core Rulebook Features (e.g. more Classes, Races, Deities)
Please rank this from 1 to 4 PVE Features (e.g. Emerald Spire, one-use dungeons, Escalations)
Please rank this from 1 to 4 PVP Features (e.g. Feuds, Wars, banditry)
Please rank this from 1 to 4 Economy (e.g. Caravans, Markets, Legal System, Points of Interest)
Uhhh. Is "1" really important or really unimportant?

Daily Survey update:
When this thing first went live, Alpha Players dominated the responses. Now, the survey respondent population is shifting more and more towards non-Alpha players. This is a good thing. It means the survey is reaching more and more voices that are not as active in the game community.
Yall can help continue this trend by continuing to encourage "shy" players to take the survey. It is a great way for them to get their voice heard. This is particularly vital as the chief complaint from people who don't feel they are being heard is that they feel they are being drowned out on the forums.

I took stock of the Settlements and Companies that have been listed by players. I noted two things:
1. There is a great breadth of representation with 24 settlements and 45 companies having one or more respondents.
2. However, there is not a lot of depth with the exception of a handful of settlements and companies that are highly represented.
"Keepers of The Circle" is the only company with double digit representation in the survey, comprising 10% of respondents.
"Keepers Pass" and "Ozem's Vigil" are the only two settlements in the double digits, with "Phaeros" a close at 9 respondents.
Breadth is good, but depth is also valuable. Get your company and settlement mates to take the survey!

...with "Phaeros" a close at 9 respondents.
In case it matters, Phaeros is currently settled by only one Company, The Seventh Veil. However, because of the War of the Towers, we're having to split ourselves into smaller sort-of-Companies for that purpose; I don't have good nomenclature for the difference in definition of the two uses of the word "Company".
I expect you've seen the names of several Companies in the Phaeros responses, depending on what each respondent uses for his personal thinking about allegiance: "The Seventh Veil", for example, or "Frozen Fingers", or "Grey Guard".

The main thing I take away form this is that some companies may actually be very small.

There has been a lot of discussion lately about whether or no the devs should delay EE. Of course, a good place for "shy" EE players to put their voice in on that score is the survey. Please keep encouraging folks on your settlement and "guild" boards to do so!
Here, again, is the limited report on "demographics," EE delay, mand OSX user-ship.

I feel like this post should be continually redone each month of EE.
I think these forums have a drastically over-represented population of people who are primarily here because they love the tabletop, and an under-represented population of people who are here because they like the features (particularly PvP oriented features) of the MMO.
I'm expecting that balance to slide the other direction the longer there is an actual game to play / the longer PvP features such as feuds have been in the game.
