Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot about the last updated line.
As for the transparency aspect it messes heavily with the coloring since the underlying terrain is not a consistent color, making it difficult to tell what is what hence I ended up using solid colors. Plus their is kind of a problem that the map is actually a ton of layers stacked on each other in such a way that adding transparency wouldn't work without significant rework of the layers.
But never fear, this is just a placeholder. I'll add a transparency slider to my forthcoming map project which will also let you toggle different things on and off as desired. I currently have it drawing a scalable hex grid. I manually entered all the Settlement and meta alliance/nation information into my database yesterday and tonight I'll input all the hex data (boring and time consuming but eh gotta do it sometime) then hopefully this weekend I can get it all wired up to draw based on the database's contents.
I have more plans for features in the long run but if I can get it to be a better version of what we already have on day 1 I'll be pretty happy.
Duffy, it sounds as if you and Harad need to keep up on each other's projects, as you're travelling many of the same paths. Perhaps there are synergies.
I didn't see anything from anyone that I thought was similar, is he building something that's HTML based and can be interacted with? I had thought all the other map projects I could find were static image based.
I know so little about mapping and HTML that I'll simply admit I don't know. both of you seem to be pursuing comprehensive mapping-projects, and that fact alone prompted my comment.

I'm working on something a little more involved then what we've seen so far map wise. Hoping to have the basics ready for EE and some additional features ready for WoT. Coding time will drastically decrease once EE starts :-)
Time for an update, the AL just expanded. :)
Yep, I actually have it staged at home already (advantage of insider knowledge), however I'm still at work doing an install so I'll post it late tonight.
I am looking forward to Sunholm's new blue halo.

Map Updated with Kabal's training choice of Wizard/Rogue
RiverBank will also train Clerics and Fighters
Map Updated with Riverbank's Cleric/Fighter training.
Kabal have officially announced Stoneroot Glade as their settlement name.
We just love making Duffy work so hard! :)
Thanks Duffy!
I find the idea that Kabal announced their settlement name right after a previous map update on purpose immensely amusing.
Comedy is all about timing. ;)
Map Updated with Kabal's settlement's name change to Stoneroot Glade.
Just as a reminder for anyone who may be interested, past versions and the change log can be found here.

Taverhold has joined the Free Highlanders. :)
Good to have y'all. Welcome to CanadaThe Free Highlanders

Any word on Talongaurd?
They're even lazier gits! Though Sunnfire was the epitome of lazy but it seems I was wrong. :-)
Kid.
Think there is a lot of back and forth going on and then back and forth between their members.

Any word on Talongaurd? Both Athansor and Toombs have been pretty busy. I know that they are considering it. Whether they sign or not, they have indicated that they want friendly relations with the local bunch.
I think our only hesitation was sorting out some consensual PVP for WoT, but I'm sure we can sort it out over some drinks! :)
Since we now have the big map with the new big download, I guess the tavern is finally open! Meet y'all there this weekend.
I am looking forward to the next big announcement. ;)
Now we need to make "drinking" emotes a higher priority.
We need the "slam it down" emote, the "sipping slowly" emote, the "sipping while in deep thought" emote, the "Not sure I'm going to like this drink" emote, the "chugging down the big mug/bottle" emote. The "Uh-OH! Think this is about to come back up" emote. We need a "waitress pouring your drink over your head because you were too frisky with her" emote. The "I'm so drunk, I need two hands to bring my drink to my mouth" emote. The "I'm so drunk I can't hold the glass so it has to stay on the bar while I try to creep up to it from the edge of the bar" emote. And the every popular, "I hurl on the guy next to me" emote - which then starts the bar room fight emotes.

Map Updated with Tavernhold added to the 'Free Highlanders' and Golgatha and Mystical Awakenings training picks of Wizard/Fighter and Cleric/Rogue, respectively.
Thanks again for the updates! Very nice, if Talonguard joins the "yellows" then the "reds" might have to re-think some of their WOT strategies, eh? :)

You know, since The Free Highlanders are in the north and Everbloom Alliance is in the south, should we be the Blue and they be the Grey? :-)

Map Updated added 'High Road Covenant' consisting of Talonguard, Kabal, and Tavernhold.
They get to be the guinea pigs of rings within rings :-).
Thank you again, Duffy. Your maps are very helpful.
This map is one of PFO's current biggest assets, imo.
Gets me really excited for the game despite the very challenging tech operation GW are working on atm. :)
Edit: Ook, 3,000 posts *shivers*
We need to make Duffy's life really hard and arrange it such that a settlement has three different agreements.
is it my imagination or does the Rogue figure on the map look like one of the Shiaa'rzar, or whatever they are called, the alien species from the X-Men comics? That black feathery kind of hair that they have?

Map Updated with the removal of Stoneroot Glade from the 'Free Highlanders'.
As per a suggestion from Cald I've created a editable sheet so that any others that are so inclined can help me collect the raw data for my dynamic map project. It can be found here: Dynamic Map Raw Data
I have data validation on all the columns so that the values will match my database's values. So it's just a matter of going through all the hexes and setting each column.
The last column is to indicate that hex has been filled out.
I know this may be difficult to notice for most of you, but for someone suffering from the most common form of color-blindness, i.e. red-green-blindness, the orange of the Free Highlanders and the green of the High Road Covenant are VERY hard to tell apart. Which would not be an issue, if they weren't right next to each other (and overlapping, even). If you'd like to do me (and I suspect a few others) a favor, change them, please :).
One option would be to just trade e.g. the color for the Highlanders with the one for Everbloom. Alternatively, make the Covenant a brighter yellow, instead.
Other than that, thanks a lot for providing this!
I'll comment that there was a post yesterday on the alpha forums that a lot of resources are about to be rejigged so that they come from fewer places with a higher drop rate, so any data collected so far is inaccurate.
Edit: oops, I was thinking of the resource locator. Ignore that bit.

I'll take color blindness into account on my next update shouldn't be too big a deal to swap a few colors, thx for the heads up.

If you're looking for a color for the Everbloom Alliance, might I suggest "Roseblood red"?
And for High Road Covenant Purple would be awesome or Blurple!
