looking to make a very vash the stampede, or peter quill-esque character.

Advice

Hi, I'm looking to make a very effective, proficient character, who doesn't appear to be much... for instance, vash falling off a mount it appears he couldn't ride, to tumble and throw daggers unseen, cutting the ropes binding his friends.

I'm not concerned with the weapons used, just basically an underestimated character, who somehow manages to pull victory out of his butt, luck rolls, or whatever.

I suppose Jack sparrow would be another example.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

High bluff? That's about the only thing I can really see you doing to make this idea work. A lot of this would be just roleplaying.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

make a swashbuckler, when the new rules come out. you could be a human and take the Racial Heritage Feat for halfling and start taking halfling luck abilities.

Isn't there a style feat to dodge around?

Bummer, well thanks anyways.

Sohei monk, with three levels of Weapon Master; Flurry of Gun.

If you watch any episode whilest Vash is known for his amazing gun skills his physicality is a key part to his character

I always thought that Vash was one of the epitomes of a Spellscar Drifter, assuming you house rule the gun to work with challenge. All though...I think that every time he drove / rode something he crashed, so maybe not! Eh, at least 5 levels of the class will get you Worn Banner.

That sounds like every bard I've ever played. I've yet to have a group take one seriously *before* I show up with a well-built one.

If you're shooting for an underestimated character that breaks expectations, might as well take advantage of the useless bard misconception.

I'll definitely check it out, where is that from inner sea combat?

Nice, always cool to have that happen.

Does weapon training from sohei and weapon master stack or something?

it stacks because it is weapon training, giving you an extra +1 to your prior groups and an extra group. it also, when combined with the 6th level of Sohei, lets you flurry with a gun.

Yeah, that's awesome, i just wasn't sure if weapon master was necessary since i originally thought they wouldn't stack. That's really fun.

weapon master is needed to get weapon training in guns, because sohei doesn't offer guns as a weapon training form

Paizo really needs to make a clockwork god with guns as their sacred weapon.

Auren, i see now.

Diminuendo, yeah, i imagine at some point..

Well, there's Cixyron, with his favored weapon being the musket.
