How about releasing prepainted miniatures like pathfinder battles for PACG?

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Would anybody be interested in a complete set of iconics for RotR?
Prepainted like RotR?

And of course for every new adventure path being released?
Please reply here, if there are many replies ... May be paizo starts the production :)

Mike

I'm not sure I follow your idea here, Myfly. At this stage, aren't most of the iconics already released through the various prepainted mini lines they have done? Why would they "redo" the prepainted minis just for the sake of the card game?

Unless I misunderstand you, I would say what you are asking for already exists...it's just up to you to either buy the individual iconics direct, or to buy the boosters and gamble for random.

For RotR all Minis were published in pathfinder battles. However some of them are already out of print. Cool would be a miniature set for each adventure path. Lets say 11 minis for 30 usd.

Reg. Skulls&shackles, ranzak, jirelle, oloch and alharaz are still NOT available... they do not exist as pathfinder battles mini. :(((

@paizo: will they soon be released? Any plans?

Maybe because some of those prepainted iconics are practically unaviable ? And by some I mean "most of".

Reprints/special sets of iconic has been discussed a few times. The problem is that the existing iconics have been fetching quite a high price on the secondary market (including through sales here on Paizo), which means that Paizo are loath to just do an exact reprint, with the ire for the reduced cost that the new printing would come through on (plus the fact that there are several minis in each mold, so they would be reissuing some other minis of a similar rarity.

This means that the only options are repaints (difficult because of the established look of the iconics - Seoni with a blue dress isn't really Seoni) or resculpts (very expensive).

Rescuplts are the only realistic possibilities, and even those are unlikely to come about.

Well, if pacg keeps rolling maybe there erik be enough incentive to do molds if all the iconics and class deck characters.

I would be surprised if either Pathfinder battles or the pathfinder minis line (from I believe reaper) didn't include the new iconics.

Grand Lodge

The next set of Bones from Reaper have more iconics. Of course you will have to paint them. As far as I know, I've only seen the initial set of pre-painted iconics. And while I like having the metal ones, the Bones minis are becoming a lot more popular ... plus they weigh less.

If the Pathfinder Battles minis are being assumed as rare and not identical minis can be released due to the collecter's mood.

There is a SIMPLE solution, use the same mold and the same painting/coloring, BUT simply change the text on the bottom of the base to NON collector version...
So the difference between the rare collector edition and the pacg bulk edition is only the text on the bottom of the base.

What do you think PAIzo and fans?

We're not going to do that. It's still a slap in the face to the guy who paid $20 just because he wanted to have Lini on the table.

We do have a happy answer for you, though—pay attention to our announcements (and Paizo blogs) around Gen Con.

Ya know, Vic, I really love you for letting us know something is coming.

However, I hate you with a fiery passion for ONLY telling us something is coming, and absolutely nothing else about it whatsoever!

Great!

But please continue to release all characters you created for PACG in the collectable prepainted Pathfinder Battles series....

I now started to buy the expensive collectable prepainted minis 11 rotr and 2ss ones for 300 USD. Thanks for not slabbing me in the face ;-) but please continue to release all PACG characters....

@vic: Do I get your promise ;-) ?

Unfortunately, at this time, there are no plans for WizKids to make prepainted plastic minis for Ranzak or any of the non-iconic characters in the Class Decks. Minis selection serves a different master.

I want minis. Kill the masters!!

Who is the master you will obey?

I will kindly ask her/him?

What about a petition letter of 1.000 pathfinder fans?
Will it change the opinion of your master you serve?

Power to the PACG players, fans & collectors !

On the 17th of August is my birthday and it is GenCon time... ;-)

Looking forward to the happy birthday present.

RotR:

From Wizkids all 11 iconics from RotR are available... They will be soon arriving in my mail so I can put these on my playmats :-) ... So RotR is completely covered by Pathfinder Battles.
SS:
For SS, i have so far Lirianne, Seltyiel and Feiya.
From RotR, Lem, Valeros, Merisiel and Lini are reappearing.
So 7 out 11 characters are available from Wizkids as prepainted miniatures.
The following 4 are missing: Alahazra, jirelle, Damiel and Oloch.

do the last 4 mentioned ones belong to the iconics class? I am not the expert here.
If yes, then i can hope for the missing 4 to be released in the near future. So SS set is also then completely covered. Do the pacg AP only include iconics, so 100% covered by wizkids at some time?

Wraith of the Righteous:
I would like to be prepared here. 55 Pathfinder Battles prepainted minis were released for WotR so far. Are there also characters for PACG included?
I would buy these as singles from the paizo store BEFORE they will become unavailable.
Do you have any glue which are these? :-)
Browsing thru the wotr mini list, ALAIN, HUMAN CAVALIER could be another hero, right?

The two iconics in WizKids' Wrath of the Righetous minis set are Imrijka the Inquisitor and Alain the Cavalier (who comes in two versions—one mounted on his horse).

(I'm not confirming that either of them are in the PACG set, though!)

I am going to throw in my hat for this. I think we should get the iconics for the PACG. I love using them and a little bummed that I won't have all the minis for Skull and Shackles.

Based off brad2411's information, I created a list to track the iconics for PACG. This link should take you there. I need to add the Reaper miniatures into it still. I'll keep it up to date. If anyone sees something incorrect or something I missed, let me know.

So we already know 8 of the characters that will be appearing in WotR? It looks like a really cool group that will provide a lot of variety to what we already have... even more to look forward to!

Yeah. 4 have been explicitly stated:

Zadim, Enora, Crowe and Quinn all have it stated in their "Meet the Iconics" blog entry.

The other 4 are based on their appearance in the blog entry from PaizoCon in the sketch by Wayne Reynolds for PACG: Wrath of the Righteous, which appears to perhaps be the box cover design.

Somehow I missed Quinn was coming in Wrath of the Righteous, but I'm super excited for that. I loved his back story. He will definitely be my first choice for that path.

Hmm...Let me confirm that then. Maybe I messed that up. I was copying and pasting a lot when I made that list.

Yeah. I think that was a copy and paste mistake on my part. Sorry to get your hopes up. I'm removing that from him in the list unless I can find confirmation, especially since this seems to confirm he isn't.

Hawkmoon,

Your iconics wish list contains only 29 entries. I thought there are 31?

I think 2 more still haven't had their iconics announced: the Hunter and the Shaman. They should appear soon on the Paizo blog. When they do, I'll add them.

Ok. I think it has everything it can have at this point. I got all the reaper minis added and also the second one of Alain from Wrath of the Righteous when he is on his horse. Again, if I missed anything or got something wrong, let me know.

I also posted on Valeros' and Seoni's Meet the Iconics blog entries to see if the old entries could be edited so the picture and titles show correctly.

Another minis option for folks to consider... even if you don't fancy yourself a painter, playable miniatures can be produced by simply taking the metal mini, coating it with white or primer grey spray paint, and then hitting it with a black ink wash. If you look at the paizo metal minis page and see any of the unpainted minis, they all use this technique to bring out the detail.

You can in most cases get the metal minis for less than the prepainted iconics are selling on the aftermarket (in some cases much cheaper) and then any FLGS should have the correct ink/wash. You can use spray paint from your local hardware store and any brush you have laying about. I would recommend a clear coat spray paint on top to keep the wash from rubbing off, that again can be had at a hardware store for a few bucks for the can and will coat dozens of figures.

Look at the metal Feiya on Reaper's site to see exactly what it would look like on one of the iconcs.

Of course this might lead you down the road to a new hobby, but for those looking for a solution other than pawns or paying ebay prices for prepainted wizkids stuff, this is a quick alternative.

Truth be told however, I do wish Paizo would just take my money that I desperately want to throw at them by making all the Iconic singles available on their site as well.

Shardra Geltl the Shaman is up and confirmed on today's blog post

And it says she'll be in WotR.

Link for ease of access.

the pre painted collectors are expensive, but you can pick up the iconics, or most of them, from www.reapermini.com for under 10 bucks each in metal and under 5 each in plastic. you just have to paint them yourself, depending on your skill it may not look as good but it doesnt cost 150$ for a set

I am not able to paint.

And 150 USD was just the ebay prive of 3 prepainted minis.

A set of 11 rotr iconics costs
150+30+36
70+14
10
=============

310 USD including import taxes and shipping.
