Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Sovereign Court

Our group just finished the final scenario last night, and I must say it was a great ending to a great game. Our group even got to the point of comparing averages to see who had the best chance of beating Karzoug's second check just so Valeros could go all out on the first. We ended up beating both checks on dice alone, no bonuses added.

Thank you for such a fantastic game. Most of our group says it was one of the best games we've played (including some who have been gaming longer than I've been alive). I only know some of the RotRL story, but from what I've seen this game did a fantastic job of taking that story as an RPG, and expanding on it in a completely different format. Up until the fifth adventure, when we just didn't have the time, we completed every adventure the night it arrived -- even when it once ran us until three in the morning with all of us working that next morning. Not our brightest idea I'm sure, but it was worth it!!

I look forward to playing Skull & Shackles, and can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us after that.

Thanks!

I just wanted to add my thanks as well. Me and my friend Eric have been running a duo through the game and just finished last night. We enjoyed it so much that we almost immediately choose 2 new characters and started again from the beginning. I'm looking forward to Skull and Shackles, not to mention future sets and am very excited for the coming in store play.

I'd suggest choosing 4 characters (2 per person) as you'll get an entirely new experience adding those 2 characters than you got with a 2-player game.

I'm sure it would be quite the different experience. We went through with Seoni and Sajan the last time. I just got home form playing some more tonight and we have Amiri and Kyra up to Adventure 2. The experience on that alone is quite different, well that and we didn't manage to snag an early holy candle like we did last time.

it was an amazing game to play through and i have only one complaint... NO FIREBALL IN A CLASSIC FANTASY SET!!!

um, Seoni's power is pretty much a fireball. At least that was my take on it.

Our last scenario was pretty hectic at the end. We found the villian via augury/scrying and could tell by the scenario that he HAD to be last thing to fight, so we left him at the bottom. When we finally DID encounter him, due to his <cheap> powers Amari was left with no cards in hand so all she had was her beserker power and a couple of outside blessings and then Meisiril finished it with her best bow and estril blessing for the second check.

The finale would probably have been more stressful if we had to fight him multiple times; thank gawd for peeks. It wasn't difficult overall though, everyone had some form of regeneration at that point and we only explored if that character was actually ready to fight. Still had a great time, can't wait for Skulls & Shackles.

it seems more like a fire ray to me. for a spell to really feel like a fireball it needs area damage. like hitting more than one location for multiple cards of one. im talking something like "for your combat check roll your arcane die+3d6, then reveal the top 3 cards of your location. banish all boons revealed this way and any bane whose highest check to defeat is less than your combat check."

My wife and I just finished today. I played the paladin, and she played the druid. I found that magic was much more powerful then the melee as magic characters get their melee and magic. I'm glad I played, so is she.

Uh, wait. You either got to play a weapon that had "For your combat check..." OR an attack spell that had "For your combat check...". You didn't get to play both, which it sounds like you were doing. So Ezren couldn't play Force Missile AND use his quarterstaff on the same check.
