Tim's slammed, so I'll try to provide an update, and hope that my count matches with his.
.
.
.
Our current submission count is sitting at 39. The breakdown is as follows:
Bestiary - 8
Class - 4
Crunch - 4
Fiction - 6
Fluff - 6
Magic Items - 6
Side Trek - 3
WoW - 1
Advice - 1
So, we're maintaining a decent balance, but there's plenty of room for more submissions!
Cheers!
Paris

Major edit for my fiction piece complete, I'm going to have my beta reader give it a quick look-over today before I submit.
250 more words for Weal or Woe (it was pointed out that I don't need to have the descriptions of the character's abilities, just the names).
I don't think my fluff article is going to make it but I COULD pull out a last-minute save before the deadline tomorrow.

I wish I had the time to contribute to this sadly. Unfortunately, the move, school, unemployment, and now a sick girlfriend leaves me with little time to do this.
Next time!
Definitely can empathize with the hectic real life events. Hope your girlfriend is feeling better soon (and you don't catch it). Just remember, don't wait--start brainstorming now for the next issue's theme: Ustalav.

Crikey, time lines getting tight now :)
My 3rd is with my review circle, so I will be posting in around 8 hours or so, so I will be getting my 3rd in by the skin of my teeth.
Anyone else feeling the deadline burn or am I the last to still be at the grindstone for submission?

Oh yeah! By my count we must be in the 40's at least and heading to 50+ submissions now - good job everyone!
Beastie Away! So that's another submission for the count, completing my 3.

I am honestly envious. I think I actually got worse about going over. D:

We'll see if my 2nd submission made the deadline, and if it did, whether it makes the cut.
Depending on how emails get time-stamped, I either made it by seconds, or missed it by seconds.
At least I had my 1st one in a ways back. I wasn't sure I'd try a 2nd entry, but I found myself free this evening, and decided to see if I could get something together in one evening.
If I didn't quite make it, it sure was a fun exercise. I'll have no hard feelings if it turns out those last few seconds cost me an entry. I should have simply attached and sent, instead of typing even a single character in the email.
Good luck to everyone, and thanks for all your efforts in putting together such a sweet 'zine.

Same. I try to do Weal & Woes, every now and then, and even my *shortest* attempt uses up all 1500 words on a single character!

Isn't that the truth.
You know you've got a good thing, when they start 'talking' to you*, in their own voices, and their schemes get more and more involved.Last issue, I wanted Federico and some Chelaxian soldiers to be stalking Woodsy and his escaped slaves through the Molthune forest, to 'rescue' his embarrassing 'red-headed skeleton-in-the-closet' brother from the Bellflowers (and ensure that he didn't live to spill the beans on his embezzlement of war bonds), and they'd all end up in a Mexican standoff with the Molthune army.
But it soon became clear that wasn't going to fit in 1500 words, even if their stats were kept separate, once you put in tactics, incriminating evidence, and enough hooks so the PCs could be in either group.
So I scrapped it, rolled the songs into the stats, and left it at that.
And 'The Fairy Fella's Murder Stroke' will have to rattle round in my head.
And we may never find out, who got skinned, to provide that luxuriant red leather for Woodsy's silver-stringed guitar...
*Yes, yes, the men in white coats are waiting to see me now. Must dash.

Oh yeah. The story of a character never really ends, there's just the point where you stop writing.
Finding that point is hard for me.
Also the point where I stop re-writing and improving stuff and accept that it's 'good enough.' :)
