No time like the present. The next issue's theme has already been announced: Ustalav.

I missed on my 3rd article.

I accidentally deleted it a few days before the deadline (by mistake of course), and could not re-create it in time. Dang! I had a unique Pharonic Sorcerer bloodline built up too...

Depending on how emails get time-stamped, I either made it by seconds, or missed it by seconds.

Yeah same boat here, but mine will be scrapped for other reasons I am sure. :)

Think positive—you never know. Best of luck. We'll all know one way or the other pretty soon.

Note to self, be sure emails are sent before closing down laptops before leaving to game for extended periods of time...

Note to self; learn to write shorter character bios and write-ups for Weal & Woe articles. I just now decided that I wanted to see what an Osirioni (Garundi) priest of Pharasma looked like, art wise.

I think I'd like Pharasma 100% more if her clerics were all faux-Egyptian!

Couldn't get a third submission together in time. Looking forward to layout, though!

For the first time ever, I came in under the cutoff.

Had to go back and add something.

Every other time, I've been way over, and trying to shave off redundant words.

I am honestly envious. I think I actually got worse about going over. D:

Same. I try to do Weal & Woes, every now and then, and even my *shortest* attempt uses up all 1500 words on a single character!

Oh thank God I'm not alone

My short story could easily have been 3,000 to 4,500 words.

You may like THIS: a Polish company, making Anubis helmets.

They've also got Apis, Apophis, Horus, Sobek, and Bastet.

Ooh, the Grecian-style Temistokles heads are super cool.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Tim and I are busily going through the Wayfinder #12 submissions (all 80 of them) and taking notes for the selection process. Tim's slammed with work for the next several days, but we're trying hard to make the selections and get the first round of editing assignments out next week.

I can tell you, now, that I'm pleased to see so many of you rose to the challenge of differentiating between Osirion and the regions of Qadira and Katapesh. You really grasped the Egyptian-themed flavor from both the pulp fiction and historical aspects. I look forward to developing this issue for everyone to see.

Yay!

Or should I say *purrr-fthagan*?

So you submitted a cat choking on embalming linen? *grins*

Unfortunately, with work and family responsibilities, Tim and I are unable to send out individual acceptance e-mails or rejection e-mails. Editors are encouraged to contact authors to discuss improvements or changes they need to make to individual articles, but they aren't required to do so.

To make sure folks aren't waiting too long to find out, here is the list of authors who have articles accepted for inclusion in Wayfinder #12. I won't be listing the actual articles, though...our readers will have to wait to know what treasures await behind ancient Osirian seals. (The list is in alphabetical order by first name.)

Attn: editor(s)

I submitted 2 articles for this issue, and see that at least one was accepted.

If my bestiary entry was accepted, and you're the editor who has it, please contact me. There's a single stat that I'd like to edit/fix.

Congrats all!

I'm hoping BOTH of my articles, bestiary AND gazetteer, made it!

But I'll be happy if it's only one of them.

Guess this means I have to quit slacking off and start writing my Wayfinder 13 article. :)

Wow! I'm in!
Hope the longest crunch did it. And maybe the short fiction. "Into the Pyramid" was the weakest and maybe could be reworked. ^_^ My good editors, give me a call!

Oh, I have just one idea for this one. I'm trying to cut back.

I've had it since the announcement of the theme, 'tho, so it's been percolating in my brain for quite some time. I'll probably have to savagely prune the many, many ideas I have along the specific theme of the article...

Ack! I'm sorry, Anthony. That was fat-fingered typing on my part. I'll make sure that errant "s" doesn't hang around.

Send Wayfinder an email with that request, and the submissions you want feedback on. We will try and provide you with some input, time allowing.

That's quite alright, think nothing of it, I am quite used to it.

Unfortunately for me, it's a common mistake ever since the Morticia and Gomez TV invasion of the 60s/70s. I have even had people add the extra "d" as well. (Anyone who understands that reference is probably as old as I am :P)

Thanks for understanding, Anthony.

My own problem tends to be one of pronunciation and gender. Apparently, I don't speak clearly enough, and modern media has convinced everyone that only women are named "Paris."

On the occasions I go to Starbucks, I usually get my cup back labeled, "Harris."

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

I understand that! My name is Kiel (pronounced like Kyle) Howell, when I order something my last name usually gets called as Howard.

I have to laugh at the ones who write my name as Don, while looking directly at me. I even had a barista write Dan on my coffee mug. I didn't think it was mine at first.

Sovereign Court

Dave, Dan, Don, Dale, Dean, even Damien ... don't ask me how they got the last one from Dain.

And when folks spell my last name, they somehow forget the "i before e except after c" rule ... or just drop the i entirely.

You'd think Jeff would be an easy one. Nope. John, James, Jerry...heck, my partner's grandma called me Greg for years, until she finally remembered my name. Then I was "Jeffrey-see-I-got-it-right!" until she died.

Kat's gram aside, I think it's that most people just don't bother to pay attention.

RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

People usually spell my last name wrong on their first try, which baffles me, since I share it with four US cities, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, and literally millions of cereal boxes in grocery stores across America.
