Options for games outside of Golarion

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hello folks. Recently have started getting into Pathfinder with some old friends and while going through the product list a staggering amount of material is for the core setting. As a GM who prefers to make his own settings are their any options for me to use my own setting, both fluff wise and crunch wise. Thank you all in advance.

I've never found the Golarion-specific stuff to get in the way. Most of the time you can just ignore the offending fluff-text and the crunch works perfectly well.

What would stop you from using any simmilar setting, aside from the stat work you'd have to do? If the work is what you object to, any 3.5 setting should minimise it.

Well, most of the books, even the core rulebook, are built for another man's setting and not your own. Houserules are your friends. A very good friend. Unfortunately there isn't much about creating your own setting, even creating your own gods.
