Green,
No because we all expect SOME verison of Harrison Wells to show up. Obviously it's not clear if Earth-2 will but if he does, he'll play a similar role Earth-17 did.
In any case I'm glad DeVoe is dealt with but they've STILL not explained why Ralph doesn't have the other metas powers.
I mean the writers confirmed they are dead, but shouldn't their powers still exist?
Depends if they were mentally absorbed or physically absorbed.

Thank you On demand TV. I am now caught up.
On the Powers thing
With the exception of Ralph I think all the powers were mental in nature, I kind of got the impression they all got uploaded into the chair with DeVoe's mind. Which would explain why he was able to increase the gravity pull of the satellite after the change.

ROFL!!!!! Best cliffhanger ever.
Poetic!!
REALLY hope Ralph gets some serious exposure next year. I think he was favorite part of this season. I mean... they still couldn't decide if they wanted Ralph or Plastic Man and kept combining them... but it WORKED...

Perhaps only DeVoe had the mental discipline to access and control multiple power sets; the powers may still exist dormant within Ralph's body, but his brain, absent DeVoe's boosted intellect, doesn't have the necessary connection to them.
And who really needs a dozen powers anyway? Ralph is...flexible enough as he is.

I have so many issues with the way they handled so many things in the latter half of this season (but most of you have already touched on them in prior posts), so I'll just say:
HURRAY RALPH YAY RALPH GO RALPH GO!
I'm also disappointed she's not Jenni. But I'm gonna give her a chance.
And we better get a Wells back on the regular, or I'm gonna be sad.

I hadn't realized how much I'd been missing Ralph (after the initial shock and loss). I do hope he will be sticking around next season.
Also, he does a certain Marvel character's signature thing, but since he is supposed to be ridiculous, it works for him.
Reed actually came after both Plastic Man and Elongated Man.

And Elastic Lad! One of Jimmy Olsen's more common powered guises, in which he was an honorary member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, who include many characters with powers that are generally associated with characters who came out later, like magnetic powers (associated with Magneto, but Cosmic Boy was using five years earlier) or telepathy (Professor X, but Saturn Girl was using five years earlier), etc.
The best use of stretching powers, to my eye, has been Elasti-Girl, from The Incredibles. I have no idea if the stuff she does could 'work' in live-action, but darn if she doesn't make it look *awesome!*

As Stretchy powers go Luffy from One Piece always stands out to me. He's dumb as a brick and uses them for pure Tank Mode brawler, while most other stretchy heroes are smart and use their powers in clever tricky ways.
My favorite is still gonna be Plastic Man though, grew up with his comics and cartoon so he's just always gonna be my number 1. Looking forward to his new comic

I actually thought Dragon was referring to Ms. Marvel with the 'Embiggen' hands... I think Ralph even used that catchphrase at least once this season...
Didn't notice anything that was STRICTLY Reed this episode... but there was a lot going on :P

Right on the money. Since he is a ridiculous character (and I say that with love), looking ridiculous works. It works less well in a character that is supposed to be serious.

New Wells Confirmed. Not that I think anyone had any doubts.
I'm probably alone, but the whole "the team doesn't function without some version of Harrison Wells" thing has gotten pretty old and stale, at least for me.

To an extent but he's the most enjoyable character on the show (apart from HR), so I'm glad to have him.

I like Harrison, but him sucking up all the 'smart guy in the room' oxygen does tend to keep Cisco, Caitlin and even Barry himself (who is, I've read, supposed to be smart) from getting to show off their big sexy brains.
If there was some way to have a version of Harrison who is more of a two-fisted adventurer, kind of a modern-day pulp hero or 'big game hunter' or even non-breacher multi-versal bounty hunter show up, so that we can have the actor, as bombastic as ever, *without* him necessarily being a super-genius, that could be a fun way to go.

It sounds worse then the spider family. at least they vary a little.
Yeah, there's only so much variation that can go into speedsters. They can learn different applications of their powers, Speed Force "tricks", basically, but otherwise, they're pretty much all Runs-Fast-Guy.
(Or more commonly, Runs-Fast-Guy-Who-Never-Exploits-His-Speed-to-Its-Full-Capacity.)
To be fair, a speedster who did would leave the audience in the dust. Barry apparently routinely retards his speed to the point where Iris or Cisco has time to complete a sentence or two of instruction before he acts. I get that he may not be able to think of everything on his own, but their suggestions are best taken as part of ongoing training or prep for field work. Once he's out there, he should routinely be moving to fast to communicate with the group.

Damon Griffin |

Which is where ADHD Speedsters rock. The Riddler tried to pull his schtick on Impulse (Bart Allen, grandson of Barry/Iris and Eobard/?). Before he could finish his riddle, Bart had search under every porch in town and found the bombs.
And that is of course how speedsters ought to operate, but it would make for very short comic issues and wouldn't be viable as a regular thing for a TV audience, so speedsters have to be "dumbed down" more or less continually...spend a whole second or two being surprised before taking action...have dialog with the team before starting a run...wait for the villain right in front of them to act first. Sorry, there is no excuse for a speedster not to win initiative hands down every time.

Somewhat. Marvel's strongest commonly used character is the Hulk....his strength level is usually measured in hundreds of tons.
DC has Superman, who's strength level I've seen listed as being in quintillions of tons.
Quicksilver vs the Flash is something like Mach 10 vs 2.4 × 10^43 the speed of light.
And of course there's the crowning Mary Sue of Detective Comics...Batgod, who could probably defeat the One Above All.

Bjørn Røyrvik |
I'm not denying that DC has characters who use their abilities improperly or who is more powerful on average, I'm asking if Marvel usually writes their characters with a 'realistic' take on their powers or if they are subject to the same variations, idiot balls, and plot contrivances as DC characters?

Yeah, I was both overjoyed and very frustrated when they brought in the 'Flash time' concept of 'when he runs everything is frozen around him'... because A) that's how it is SUPPOSED to be, and B) HOW DOES HE TALK TO EVERYONE AT THE SAME TIME???
The talking and instruction has bothered me forever. The conversations they have do NOT equal out the time it takes him to get from point A to point B... he's running across town, not to Star City. They clock his speed at things that break sound barriers and break time barriers, but they can run through plans A through C and how and why they won't work before he gets to the police station or bank?? REALLY??
I will say as much as I do love the actors playing (most of) Team Flash... Flash should not be a 'team'. the 90's did it right when you had John Wesley Shipp talking with Tina at Star Labs, making plans, solving the mystery.... then Zooming off on his own to catch the bad guy. Once Flash starts moving... non-speedsters aren't necessary anymore.
