Glad to see we will be getting the color map! Would have hated to have missed it again after missing it in SoA.
I'm still traumatized over missing 100 extra encounters for the SOA KS. Very frustrating.
Good job on everyone getting the word out on this and getting the last stretch goal unlocked.

Wait...what happened? Did I miss it? I went into a stress-induced coma there about 3 hours ago and must've not seen the final push. Anyway congrats to everyone.
This August 23rd I turn 40. For my 40th I have a lot to celebrate on a personal level and as presents to myself I'm grabbing major deals with FGG. Happy Birthday to ME!
Bill, thanks for your patience with me and my questions in this thread. I'm a noob to both the KS process and to FGG. As I said before your communications and customer service were outstanding. From everything I've heard on these boards your product will net the same rating and what a freaking value. Positive experience all the way around!

We are humbled and honored that all of you worked so hard to help us on this. It’s no easy feat raising $57k on a $35 book. The 991 of you who joined in on this effort will not be forgotten by all of us at Frog God Games. Those of you who know us well are to be congratulated on the amazing job you did to help us find new folks, as well as the countless kind and generous postings you gave to clarify my poorly written words on updates. The confidence you have in us is awesome, and we intend to keep producing the highest quality books in the industry.
Special shout outs to Greg, James (really a frog) Scott, Shem and so many of you who have stuck by us now for 4 years. You guys expressing satisfaction is what brings new folks to the Lost Lands and helps us make more products. Special thanks on this one to my friend Vicki Potter at Tabletop Games (go buy everything she does…trust me on this, it’s awesome and inexpensive). If you like our player’s guides, you will love Vicki’s work.
For all you new folks, welcome aboard! I believe you will find that we frogs make this stuff worth the entry fee, and we welcome you to the fold. I also think that you will find my adventures are much better written than my emails and posts! Matt, Greg, Skeeter, Chuck, Krista, Jillian, John L, John W, Chris and I hope you enjoy our works and are always open to feedback. We pride ourselves on creating “adventures worth winning” as well as books worth buying. If we can ever do anything to provide you with better service or better products, let us know (email me directly at bill@talesofthefroggod.com). We don’t always succeed, but we do try to make everyone happy.
The backer kit survey will be out in about 10 days. It takes a bit to organize and make sure it’s right. We also have to clean the warehouse next weekend or the new books won’t fit on the shelves! Keep in mind it’s just the 9 of us doing this at night!
Direct orders from our website are typically mailed on Mondays in batches. So if you order on a Tuesday, it could take 10 days or so. I have already organized my troops (all 6 kids in my D&D group) for two weeks in July to pack books. Between them, my wife Krista, and Skeet if we can kidnap him, I figure 4 weekend days should get it done (still cannot believe it’s almost 1000 orders!).
Big things coming over the next 9 months. For the Lost Lands, one more short hardcover (like Barakus—but series/area TBA) and then the monstrously huge Northlands around Thanksgiving. Save your money for that one—its going to be HUGE—initial estimate is 700-850 pages. On the environment books, Dunes comes out for all of you with the survey, and releases in July. Next up is the plains sourcebook—call “Fields of Blood”. That releases sometime early Fall.
Many more things coming soon! We will keep you all posted here and on the Rana Reader, our monthly newsletter.
Thank you again for your love and support,
Bill

You guys rock. I should have everything at press in about three weeks except the color map. That will be done mid june. Greg has med school boards in week two of june and we are all in Dallas week 1. August 23 is looking like no problem!
Thank you all again for the love and support!
Once he's done with the boards, can we call Greg Doc Hopper?

No Greg; you guys are the best. You put out quality product, interact well with your customers and actually modify products and practices based on feedback from your fans. Frog God Games has carved out a niche with their product but rather than relying on the kitsch of that product you strive to meet the needs of your audience while maintaining a clear vision. Finally (and this is now the third post I'm saying this in) your communication is outstanding. If there are issues, delays or other potential pain points you're up front and transparent about them. Heck, we now know how many kids Bill's got lined up to pack our orders and the average shipping time based on FGG's logistics.
We are lucky to have Frog God Games. As you get bigger (and you will) we customers will miss these halcyon days. Thank you for your continued support of us, your fans, and we hope we can continue to keep the shelves in your warehouse well dusted from our frenetic orders.
Ok, I'll stop gushing now. I'm sure its getting stale by now. Can't wait for the map to hang on the wall of the gaming room...

I did proofreading for them on some of their books during the d20 years.
They put out a great series called Bits of the X which is just tons (usually 100 for random generation if you want) of evocative but short read aloud boxed text descriptions for a theme (swamps, forests, caverns, dungeons, cities) which you can use to fill out otherwise undescribed areas or as inspiration. I've used them in a couple pbp games to describe scenes and found them fantastic for adding evocative atmosphere. I'd recommend checking them out.

Just wondering how much of this is expanded, since I grabbed the original adventure during the RA KS. Of course the new and lovely stretch goal wilderness areas, but how much else?
So what was the extra stuff in the end*?

** spoiler omitted **
Me neither, but for me, the main reason(s) I didn't back was because:
1) I already own an original hardcover LCoB (in mint condition), and
2) I stuck with 3.5 instead of PF.
All I really lost out on was Level 4B (the wilderness encounters elicit a shrug from me - I'm here for the lost city!), and stretch goals were needed for those.

Stretch goals unlocked 3 Wilderness Encounters, Dungeon Level 4B and a revamping of the iconic NPCs. 2 maps were unlocked with small add-on costs and also they are putting out a nice discounted packaged for existing product during the survey.
Plus a free PDF Player's Guide for backers.

BAH! I knew I should has spot checked before I posted...Oh well, looks like some peeps had my back. I did mention the maps tho!
@Arnwyn/DSXMachina. I believe this kickstarter was to reach newbie customers like myself who have had little or no exposure to this stuff (a brand expansion if you were).
Save your money for Northlands this fall. I hear the installments they've put out for that so far is solid.

Arnwyn. But they are my wilderness encounters!
They are actually mini dungeonish things.
:D
Which, admittedly, I do kind of like...

Yeah, that's what it indeed sounded like as well (and LCoB is a great first exposure) - and I'm definitely not a NG/FGG newbie, what with owning a mint/near-mint physical copy of every NG adventure ever created and most FGG items.
I think, though, I'll be saving my money for Sword of Air, which Bill has brutally teased throughout the NG years. (I didn't back that because I'm not much of a Kickstarter person and I have less interest in the Lost Lands stuff compared to the actual adventure itself - I put everything in my long-running campaign universe... and I want to see what the finished product looks like!)

For those who backed the Lost City of Barakus Kickstarter by Frog God Games, you will be getting an email shortly which contains the "Backer Kit." In addition to confirming your mailing information and other housekeeping, it offers some substantial discounts on some of our items. This is probably your last chance to get Swords & Wizardry swag (dice, cards, etc.) other than in a grab bag late in the year. It also may be the last chance to get a Swords & Wizardry Tome of Horrors, although I don't think it's discounted -- not sure. It's not everything that's discounted, and the deepest discounts are reserved for things we want to get out of the warehouse, but some of those are really good products that just aren't selling as fast as the newer material. I strongly recommend taking a look at the choices once your email arrives. If you didn't back the Kickstarter, I'm afraid you're out of luck on this set of discounts. It's too big a logistical difficulty to mix the Kickstarter process with the normal ordering process.

The prices will include shipping, so (a) make sure you have the right country, (b) prices will be higher by the amount of shipping, and (c) you MUST remember to be careful about whether you are clicking for a Swords & Wizardry version or the Pathfinder version of the book. He also asks me to really emphasize that some items are discounted and others are not. There are some great prices, but it's not a universal, "Everything is on sale" email.

can we combine these sales/discounts with our RA subscription "refund"?
