If I, as a wizard, scribe a spell from a scroll into my spell book, is that spell scroll used up, or do i still have it?

-Thanks

I believe the spell scroll is used up.

From the PRD: "a spell successfully copied from a magic scroll disappears from the parchment."

all righty then! thanks guys! not what i waned to hear but thanks.

as long as im here ill just double check. its 15+the spell's level to copy right? what happens if i fail the DC do i still lose it?

Nope, only a spell "successfully" copied will disappear.

That puts you one up on a witch, who has to burn a scroll even if the familiar can't learn it.

It's worth noting that you can retry copying the spell on a failed check. You must wait until the next day to retry.

moving away from spells, if i play a necromancer who raises and controls the undead, can i not be good? I understand the conflict but if my necromancer was raised is Orison, where the undead are not feared and are revered some, couldn't a good caster use undead? or am i not understanding the way Orison looks at the undead.

And sorry for not spelling the nations name right

Only Clerics have this restriction. There is no such restriction on wizards.

I believe you're talking about "Osirion". An "Orison" is a 0th level divine spell. I can see how you could confuse those.

no i knew which i was talking about, i just didn't have any books in front of me to check my spells. And thanks forthe info

Also note that, if you aren't in a combat situation/under stress, you can take 10 to scribe a spell into your spellbook.

DC 20 or read magic or source spellcaster to understand the spell, DC 15 + spell level to scribe it into your book.
