I DM a Skulls & Shackles game that is currently in need of some fresh blood.
However, there is a catch. You must be willing to roleplay. If your idea of roleplaying is posting a sentence or two with an associated dice script, then move along; this game is definitely not for you.
But if your idea of roleplaying is using your imagination to invent interesting actions then you are in the right place. If your idea of roleplaying is immersive dialogue with fellow-minded players then you are in the right place. if your idea of roleplaying is descriptive combat scenes then you are in the right place. If you ever wanted your PC to star in its fantasy story, then read on. The game is being played by email (PBEM) with two turn recaps per week. What’s a turn recap? Glad you asked.
A turn recap is kind of a chapter in a book where I gather all the information from the players (posts), determine NPC reactions/dialogue/etc., and set up the next roleplaying situation, all in a cohesive story format. It also has an out-of-character section where I provide maps (combat and location), describe health status and any ongoing conditions/magical effects of both PCs and NPCs, and present pictures and/or other gaming aids to help with the immersion bit. See below for an example.
If you’re still here then I think I at least have got you interested. You’re probably thinking that all this great stuff comes at a cost. And yes, you are right. You must be willing to post a couple of paragraphs at least twice per week. And you must be willing to be patient because these games, albeit slightly faster than a PBP, still take a while. This S&S game started in July 2013 and we are only about 4/5 done.
If you are still interested, here are a couple of links. This site is a webpage that I use as a repository for character fluff and turn recaps. So go there if you want to see what a turn recap actually looks like. And remember that we get two of these recaps out per week.
This thread is the original recruitment thread. The players still with us are Emma, female human gunslinger; Matheus, male human alchemist; and Morgan, male human rogue.
You can come up with a new character or take over one of the old ones that were left orphaned.
Ask me lots of questions.

@DoubleGold: Correct, the game is played on an email list (you'll need just a regular email account).
@Daniel: Thanks for the submission although the character needs some tweaking to make it fit S&S.
@rorek55: A caster would be a good idea.
All:
Characters would come in at 3rd level and we'll have to get creative to introduce them as soon as practical to the game.
I'll make my decision based on the fluff (appearance, background, and personality).
Other questions?

So i've read some docs on your site, i hadn't done so before, flaw on my part.
But the straight-to-the-point way of the boards suits me just fine.
I like some RP in the game, certainly so, but i don't see myself playing in this specific way.
The boards' smaller posts are easy enough for mobile devices, which are really bad when it comes to writing larger texts, missing some vital functions found on a keyboard.
As such this format wouldn't go too smoothly for me.
Hope you find a good replacement,
Have a good one,

This has piqued my interest; I quite enjoy going by email and in-depth roleplaying rather than simply leaving it to the dice. However, I'm curious how much back-and-forth there there between the players and DM and between the players themselves prior to the turn recap. Is this where the majority of the pbem comes in, with the recap as a solidifying capstone to move things along?
If we decide to move things forward, I think I could take over Jakiro with a few minor (mainly aesthetic) tweaks.

Correct. The 'playing' part goes on through the emails. Most of what you see in the turn recaps, is a summary of previous email exchanges with the exception of the last part. This part is where I set up your next 'situation'.
Search Google Groups 'Skull & Shackles PBEM ala Fabian'. There you can read emails (I believe they are public) and see for yourself.

Taking over Jakiro is the easiest/quickest way to start playing so this is fine. If that's what we decide, I can send you his 'crunch' and you can adjust it as well (within limits) to suit your tastes.
Let me know if you have other questions.

Alright, I found the google group, and that makes much more sense to me. I don't mind adding predictive logic, but the amount of goings on in the recap would be more all-at-once-predictions than I could feasibly keep up with on a regular basis.
The group discussions, though, look manageable and look like what I had anticipated when I posted interest. So just to be explicit, I'm definitely still interested.
