I've got a Lore Warden with a fauchard, and a one-level dip into Master of Many Styles monk. Just got to fifth level last time I played him. He's got whirlwind attack, combat reflexes and improved trip. I also picked up Crane Style, for a significant amount of dodge bonus when fighting defensively and crane. I'm planning a second level of monk in a few levels, mostly for evasion and another bonus feat. Maybe the nerfed Crane Wing!

The Monk can flurry with the kusari gama which has reach, all you need is the weapon style trait.
The sohei can Flurry with any reach weapon as of level 6.
Sohei definitely seems like an interesting choice. It can flurry in armor, gets a decent amount of weapon training to keep up with other classes (and should work with gloves of dueling should work with that) which also benefits from the ton of attacks, and they can use their bonus feats to get mounted feats, which has obvious appeal with mounted skirmisher since they like full attacking with flurry so much.
Even if you can't flurry with it until level 6...well, I honestly wonder how useful flurry even if before that level. I mean, sure, you act like you have full BAB, but that -2 still hurts in the level 1-5 range. Just going around like anyone else with a spear seems much easier.
Anyway, even if you do not like soheis, there is a serious advantage to be had in taking mounted skirmisher at level 14. It is basically pounce for people that aren't barbarians or druids. And paizo released a feat that essentially gives anyone willing to waste a couple of feats (nature soul and animal ally, if I remember right.) to get a ranger style animal companion. Problem with that of course is that you also still need the boon companion feat. So over all, this seems like an option for classes with tons of bonus feats like fighters.

The nice thing about using a Reach weapon with a Sohei before level 6 is the options it presents you at basically no opportunity costs. You can easily infight unsing flurry with whoever is in reach while still wielding a polearm and threatening squares around you. CR is a free feat at level 1 or two (the only other truly good bonus feat being Dodge imo) so you can easily switch between fighting with unarmed atatcks and a polearm as it seems covenient while still constatly threatening AoO with your spear.

Inquisitor of Gozreh is probably the best; do the swift-action grow and you can actually full attack someone 25 feet away (with your 5 foot step), AOO anyone who moves within 20 feet of you, and during your turn you shring back down and are at regular reach.
Also helps that it makes the Lucern Hammer (the "preferred reach weapon for non-dwarves") do 3d6 damage; with your probably-18 strength that'd be 3d6+7 as a swift action. Later you'll get bane and the power attack and all of that nonsense.
Lore Warden make the best reach whirlwind trip if you are going for that style; it's really good at lower levels; at high you need to branch into dirty tricking (with 1 level of Manuever Master) to keep it effective in all encounters.

I personally believe Inquistors and Warpriests (and to a lesser extend Oracle) have completely replaced the idea of the "Martial Cleric"; there are too many ways to do that idea betetr now. Clerics are still solid, but only as support these days (and really from the core book as well; 18 strength and standard-action buffing only gets you through level 6 or so on the front line).
For straight-martial (no spells) that just want to do damage and combat reflexes tricks, it's the standard toss-up of damage dealers. And for that Barbarians probably take the cake over fighters and monks (it's not a feat-intensive build, you don't need AC when you're relying on massively damaging people before they get there, and barbarians have great rage powers / damage output).

I meant the spells and judgements. Martial means supernatural stuff to a minimum imo. Inquisitors are great combatants. They are just magical ones.
