Is the archetype weaker than regular Paladin? Yeah, no question about it. But hey you don't have an alignment limitation anymore.
I honestly didn't notice that this thread was necroed.
But hey at least people who search for it now will see its possible.

Desna is Goddess of travelers...

and to help the next poster [PFS1]Vindictive Bastard Paladin archetype circa 9/2017. This archetype is for EX-Paladins (those who have 'fallen') so technically a PC cannot start with this class. Furthermore (as detailed in the classs description) 2 {successful} Atonement spells and the creature regains Paladin class and loses this class.
I'd review the other archetypes for a better option or just do a Paladin dip and get out of the class.

The Gray Paladin archetype also loosens alignment restrictions somewhat and doesn’t count as an Ex-Paladin archetype. The fact that the Gray Paladin is kinda lame is beside the point. If the GM is willing to let the character to choose a deity within one step of the character’s alignment then a Gray Paladin could be Paladin of Desna.

If you actually want to play a divinely ordained martial champion of Desna who is not a warpriest or some kind of cleric or inquisitor- the thing to do is to talk to your GM about it.
The rule about "one alignment step from your deity" is not actually a rule for Paladins- since Paladins weren't actually required to even have a deity in 1e. But people's interpretations of what the class means and how it should work will vary.
Or you could play second edition, a thing which I admit was not possible in 2014.
