Rules Questions

History:
Well we started good old Rise of the Runelords campaign and i play as divine caster who have Student of Faith trait.

Quote:
Student of Faith: While you have personally dedicated your life to a single deity, you study all religions and mortal faiths. Upon hearing that the town of Sandpoint recently completed a cathedral dedicated to the six deities most popular in the area, you had to see the place for yourself, and have arrived in time for the consecration of this holy edifice. Because of your strong faith and broad range of study, you cast all cure spells at +1 caster level, and whenever you channel energy, you gain a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of your channeled energy.

So we met Vargouille and while my unfaithful friends was paralyzed by its terryfing screech i had to deal with the creature, as my devotion to Gorum protected me from such ill fate. In the glorious battle i got bitten by the foul abomination and as rules say Vargouille have poison

Quote:

Poison (Su)

Bite—injury; save Fort DC 12; frequency once; effect damage caused by bite can only be healed with magic if the spellcaster succeeds on a DC 20 caster level check; cure 1 save. The save DC is Constitution-based.

I got nat 20 on my 3rd heal check so its all fine, but question is:

Does increase in caster level from Student of Faith apply to caster level checks made with such cure spells?

I would say that it applies.

"you cast all cure spells at +1 caster level" is pretty unambiguous. You just get an increase to your caster level for those spells, no "if"s, "and"s, or "but"s (well, okay, there's one "and", but that doesn't modify your caster level).

Thus for any situation you would ask, "does this modify my caster level for those spells" the answer would be, "yes!" :)

Thanks for the answers! I also found

Quote:
In the event that a class feature or other special ability provides an adjustment to your caster level, that adjustment applies not only to effects based on caster level (such as range, duration, and damage dealt), but also to your caster level check to overcome your target's spell resistance and to the caster level used in dispel checks (both the dispel check and the Dc of the check).

so intention is quite clear
