I, too, was going to crack a joke, but then BigNorseWolf won the thread.

Well played, BigNorseWolf. Well played.

The judges pick up their dice...

They shake their hands with determination...

Sean says "Roll, high roller chooses!"...

Three dice bounce along the table coming to rest...

1, 1, 1.

Nope - dice didn't help :P

Have the two authors picked up by Paizo GeekSquad operatives and flown to an undisclosed location, where they battle to the death in a pit while surrounded by chained Cave Raptors. Survivor is alternate. Easy.

I know it is not possible to tell anything about the upcoming winners and, sadly, losers, but (and I may have missed this) can we know the total number of entries?

Grand Lodge Star Voter Season 6, Star Voter Season 7

I also would like to formally be the first to extend my sympathies to finalist #33 ... whomever you are .. that was a tough break.

Well, I submitted one, so... One.

Anyone else?

Make that 1.50 .... mine was a half-a@# attempt to make an item.

Paizo never discloses the total number of entries. But the unofficial Post-cull database currently has 505 items that were spotted after the cull, and a good bunch that may or may not have been culled. And I believe it's been mentioned that the lowest 20% of items were culled, so that's 600+ items.

Add to that the unknown amount of items that were never part of the public vote due to various disqualification issues, and you probably have a total of submitted entries around 700-1000.

Only Paizo knows for sure and they ain't telling.

I haven't teased in a while, so...

7.5 hrs to go, less than the 8 hr standard working day!

Are we excited yet? :P

Excited? I don't think that is the right word. I'm enjoying the competition and will continue to enjoy it, but likely as a spectator and judge only after today. I don't hold any faith in my entry this year (even less than last year). Another serious misjudgement about the gaming public on my part. Oh, well. There is always next year and I've learned another lesson. Good luck, everyone!

f

Yeah, that was me last year. So best of luck, and make sure you've got your monster ready to go just in case someone in the Top 32 comes down with the flu or something.

Which can happen. Two years ago, after all, two alternates got in. (And there was another DQ, though in a round too late for a third to get in.)

I put my CRB t-shirt on for luck today. I get to reroll if I don't make it, right?

Just curious; will they (I believe they did last year) once again post the top 100? For those of us that don't make the top 32, it'd be interesting to note if we were in the running, anyway.

Right, and how exactly am I supposed to get any work done in this time?!? I suppose rather than letting the anticipation kill my work productivity, it is better to just throw up my hands and return to editing my monster. Good luck to all!

Normally I'd be at work at my desk with an internet connection and able to check. But today I'll be at a meeting and unable to check until I get home, likely some time after the posting.
Oh uncertainty.

Just had a flashback to early Simpsons episode. Everyone is waiting for the lottery. Cut to: police station, interior. Springfield's finest are glued to the TV, watching the lottery numbers being called. The phone rings. CHIEF WIGGUM answers.

CHIEF WIGGUM: Um, no, you have the wrong number. This is, um, 91, um 2.

Yep. It is hard to concentrate. I'll be leaving right around the time of the reveal.

I think I prefer to find out away from the office, so I won't hang around to look. I'll look when I get home 20 minutes later. Can't believe I'm doing it that way, but somehow that's my preference.

I typically get home from work at about 4:50, so I'll still have at least ten solid minutes of obsessing to go when I get there.

SKR indicated in another thread that the top 100 will get posted on Wednesday, but unlike last year he will not have the time to do some highlight reviews of selected items.

Template Fu will step in on those top 100.

I will start a thread after they are posted separate from the main feedback thread. When it appears, if you want a Template Fu review, then post it as entered and I will work through them in that separate thread.

Please everyone else, post to the main critique thread so I can concentrate on the Top 100.

Dude. You work too hard to simply "rock" as the vernacular goes.

Still, I am in awe of your helpfulness, kindness and willingness in so many things in this community.

I do have to ask ... take apart my item after the top 100? ;)
