A drow magus, hmmm I could only recommend to focus on a dervish build. If the party intends on being above ground most of the time the alternate racial trait surface infiltrator is a must have. But if your game is going to be mostly dungeon crawl disregard that last advice.
Intensify spell is not useful until around level 7, so I would say to get something else to guarantee her survival for the low level. Toughness, Extra Arcane Pool and Extra Traits (if your game uses traits) is a good one as well.
Spell penetration may be a necessary feat, if you are doing an a typical drow campaign (meaning you'll be fighting numerous enemies with SR).
I have a new player starting and I'd like to get some feat and prestige class recommendations for her class and race, since this is a relatively new build combo. So far I'm thinking... Extra Arcane Pool, Intensity Spell and/or Improved Critical.
Well, none of those are going to be your 1. level feat. The major decision is Dervish Dance: Yes or no.

no the real question is, are a dex based magus? or a strength based magus? if dex, dervish dance.. really isn't an option. (I mean, for "optimized characters")
