Need Help building Melee.

Advice

Been playing Pathfinder for a while but never seem happy with what I make. I want a close combat High damage dealer like a fighter, but also would like to have more skill choices then climb, swim, and intimidate.

I know you can't have everything but I want to some things that I can do besides fight.

I would appreciate any advice here or character builds/suggestions.

Core races, any class I believe, and 15pt buy.

Well then,
Play your fighter and don't dump Int or Cha. This is going to be a high order since these tend to be the dump stats for a fighter--at least cha--so you wont be a close combat god.

If wearing heavy armor your dex only needs to be +0 or +1 to optimal, +3 if you are going mithral, but you can get that from enhancement items if you so choose.

If we go with any race.
An array to make sure you are at least mediocre at everything is
Str: 14 (5)
Dex: 14 (5)
Con: 14 (5)
Int: 12 (2)
Wis: 12 (2)
Cha: 11 (1)

If you go for elf, to get the CEB--arguably one of the better 2-handed fighting items--then you are looking at
Str: 14 (5)
Dex: 16 (14+2)(5)
Con: 12 (14-2)(5)
Int: 12 (10+2)(0)
Wis: 10 (0)
Cha: 14 (5)

Giving you, at level 1,
+6 Climb, +6 Swim, +6 Intimidate
But, you could be overall mediocre in combat--not bad, just mediocre.-- On the bright side, however, you wouldn't have to worry about belt of incredible dexterity to get the most out of mithral full plate, and when 2-handing your damage would be the same as an agile CEB, so just start stacking STR and hoping you don't take a lot of hits.

This all said you are not able to take hits like a champ so be warry of that.

not bad but it has to be a 15 point buy so I wouldn't have that many points.

Have you considered a rogue (scout/thug) intimidation build utilising an earth breaker and the sap master feat? Extremely high spike damage and enemies run in fear when you smack them, also lots of skill points without needing a high int.

If it is 15 then drop the charisma since survival is more important than the +2 to intimidate checks.

Try a sword-and-shield or two-handed style ranger.

Start with a base 15 STR, +2 for being human, which lands you a 17. Then put the extra point into STR at level 4 to get a nice, round 18. Put a couple points into Dex for AC. Then just don't dump anything else, or only dump CHA since you probably won't be focusing on social-type skills as a ranger. You get AC from medium armor, plus either shield, if using the sword-and-shield style, or buckler if going two-handed.

It's very hard to be well-rounded plus optimized at one thing on a 15 point buy. But this is pretty close.

Here you are.

Human with Dual Talent (+2 to 2 stats - strength and con) Two Handed Weapon Fighter and Barbarian (I prefer Armoured Hulk but there are a number of options - say a ratio of 3 levels to 1).

Focus on 1 weapon, 1 manoeuver and a having a good will save.

You will be a potent damage dealer, just watch your A.C. and fatigue.

Suggest human fight phalanx soldier archetype with guisarme. Dont take trip feats. You have reach on them so will not get attacks of opp but you still get +2 to trip with two handed guisarme that, with this archetype, you can use with one hand. Grab a heavy shield and these feats:

Power attack, cleave, pushing assault. 1st.
Combat reflexes. 2nd.

Pick up the bladed belt, make keen ASAP. This item can change to any piercings or slashing weapon, useful when targets get past reach and for swapping to other advantageous arms for tactical benefits (more threat, brace, etc).

When an adversary comes at you ready an attack with your pole arm that goes off when they enter the square 10 feet in front of you. use a 5 foot step backwards if you have to. Make a power attack when they enter the threatened square, and a second attack of opportunity when they charge through that square. For the AoO use pushing assault and push them back to the square 10 feet in front of you, which if they continue to charge through provokes another attack of opportunity on exit from the threatened square. Repeat. It works great low to mid level.

These feets augment the theme of this build, who hits both hard and multiple times and hampers enemy melee effectivity:

Finishing cleave, great cleave, shield of swings, improved finishing cleave, lunge, exotic weapon-fauchard, combat patrol, combat expertise, improved trip, greater trip

I have had additional success adding a level of the Barbarian and picking up 2 weapon fighting and improved shield bash as well as shield spikes and a shield of bashing for a very versatile build.

A good range weapon is a helper. Agile breastplate. A weapon sharpened with a whetstone does plus one damage on the first attack. Keep your early weapons sharp for free damage. +1 enchant your armor and shield ASAP.

Sovereign Court

If you want lots of skills, I recommend taking one or (preferably) two levels of Urban Barbarian.

Barbarians are good because they can use Furious weapons. A +3 Furious weapon is +5 when raging.

You just described a Ranger. You get 6 skill ranks per level, a massive class skills list, half casting, and an animal companion... all in a full BAB character with bonus feats! You don't get heavy armor, and you can't take any crazy exotic feat lines, but if you just use two-handed power attacking you'll have plenty of feats.

You can't get the crazy-high ACs and attack stats of fighters (except maybe against your favored enemy), but you hit still plenty hard, and out-of-combat you can be an excellent scout/lore master/nature guide. Remember you can get traits to make just about any skill a class skill, so you could easily have a Ranger with, say, Disable Device and Bluff. Who needs Rogues?

for fighter class, dex-base. dual kukris. power attack, weapon finesse, wpn spec.,wpn focus, improved crit, etc etc. Will rox0r the box0rz of all the beasties.
Or go with an elven curve blade. Same thing, dex-base, etc. But go for whirlwind attack and take the Lunge feat so you can whirlwind everyone within 10ft. And elves are good for that, especially with 15pt buy, since they get +2 to Dex & Int.
