What ways are there to acquire the Pounce ability or osme equivalent of it?

Liberty's Edge

Just wondering what methods are out there for acquiring this ability. Spells? Magic items? Feats? All I know of is the rage power that requires 10 levels of Barbarian. Looking for other options. Thanks.

If moving then getting a full attack round is what you want, then all you need is 1 mythic tier.

And which Mythic ability provides that Morain?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Plains Domain, Vulpine Pounce (Kitsune), Claw Pounce (Catfolk), and maybe Synthesist Summoner (can they use the quadruped form?).

Edit: Forgot a few. Tiger Trance (Swordmaster Rogue, Tengu), Beast Shape II/Wild Shape, Devil-Bound Template (Hellcat), Monstrous Physique II, Undead Anatomy II.

I don't have the book right here but I think it might be called fleet charge or something. It is one of those 3 abilities you select at first tier.

What it does is let you move and make 1 attack as a swift action. after that you still have your full round left to attack :-)

Found it in the PRD:

Fleet Charge (Ex): As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to move up to your speed. At any point during this movement, you can make a single melee or ranged attack at your highest attack bonus, adding your tier to the attack roll. This is in addition to any other attacks you make this round. Damage from this attack bypasses all damage reduction.

There is always my favorite the Wolf Shaman Druid (they get travel domain)
Heighten + Preferred Spell means dimension door in any relevant spell slot
7 Dimensional Agility, 9 Dimensional Assault, 11 Dimensional Dervish
means at 11th a swift action and full attack on opponent or scattered opponents) even those in the air or behind a wall of forcewith the added bonus of being able to scarper after away into cover and concealment so even ranged attackers cannot respond (and tripped archers cannot attack you from the floor anyway).

Can do the same with a cleric (or theologian) with the travel domain but druids make better (and less buff intense) warriors with the added bonus of better or at least more fun attack spells and less must have 4th level spells (cleric has loads) that compete for your base d.door slots.

Besides a giant tripping, casting, teleporting wolf is pretty nightmarish, more so when your able to trip multiple separate opponents while damaging them - great fun! Also works pretty well in a medevil fantasy or even a steampunky Victorian world that has nightmares, terrors and magic.

Synergy is good with the wolf shamans bonus feats and the top end dimensional feats as well. Also easy to up you bite die and damage with the druid spell list (greater magic fang and strong jaw is all you really need - one natural attack makes it really easy and able to be done multiple combats unlike creatures with claw and bite routines where buffs are time consuming and costly and work best only in theory).

If you just want to full-attack after a move, an intelligent mount (any animal companion with int stat bonus, Eidolon, just buying it in the game world, ect) can move on its own accord - you don't need to spend a move action to use the Ride skill like with a normal mount - so you can have it move/run/double-move/charge/move&standard and you full attack.

Spell combat+Bladed Dash or Force Hook charge.

A couple quick runners shirts that you can change between battles will get you a pounce a battle. Which is most of the time all one would get the chance for (or no chance at all at times.)

Reach honestly tends to get you more fully attacks in reality then pounce. Pounce is very limited and a DM even using minor tactics can make it unusable most of the time. While a reach weapon and the lunge feat plus your 5 foot step can get you a full attack often.

Bladed Dash might work, Force Hook Charge has in its spell description

"If you use this spell with your spell combat class ability, you can make your melee attack from your starting position or your ending position."
So unfortunately like a quickened d.door (without the dimensional feats) your actions are limited as specified by the spell.

The dimensional assault line has the benefit that as your not moving through the intervening space DMs (aka any smart opponent) cannot make it unusable through simple positioning or other easy strategies.
