Yeah, I would much prefer a pool of points to activate limited use talents. Preferably one that is either X+Stat +X/level or one that refills.
For the slayer, I still think a pool that refills with kills or crits would be very fitting.
I am pretty certain, at this point, that it won't take long for players to realize that the Slayer is not a rogue replacement as much as it is a Fighter/Ranger/Barbarian replacement as a full BAB martial class with very little utility... and that it really isn't very good at doing that at the moment.
Hopefully some things will get fixed.

The more I play with this, the more I come to the conclusion that the overall power level is about right, but it's a very rough ride from 2nd to 5th level.
You should see 6-9th.
Power level is....acceptable, but theres still no reason to play a Slayer over a Ranger when a Ranger can do everything the Slayer can in the worst possible conditions and still match up. And thats without adding in the spells and favored enemy.

Does favored target count as favored enemy for the purposes of feats and abilities? For instance, could a mythic slayer take the champion path ability endless hatred?
Not yet.
The problem with 6-9th or 1-9th if you have rapid shot, is most times you'll want to get that extra attack in rather than setting your Favored Target.

Hey there. I'm a bit new to gaming, but I had an idea, as a mid to high level ability. For the purpose of front loading damage, perhaps an ability to allow the Slayer to move and full attack on the first round, considering the beginning of an encounter, anyone who hasn't moved is flatfooted?
I also wish it were more skill heavy, since assassins/bounty hunters/military recon/etc. need to survive alone. I liked the comment about adding disable device and NOT trapfinding.

Just played a slayer in a 1st level PFS scenario today. I can put up with Favored Target being a move action at levels 1 to 4, but from just one session I can tell that levels 5 to 9 are going to be painful. How about from level 5 studying a target can be a move action, or be able to be combined with a regular move (like drawing a weapon)?

Question on Terrain Mastery.
Is it a typo that when you take more levels of terrain mastery it increases ALL previous levels of terrain mastery by 2?
+8/6/4/2, then you get to the good advanced talents, seems pretty good/broken. Rangers could only dream to get that high that early and in so many different terrains.
(Primary Terrain/Secondary/Tertiary/Quaternary)
eg(Urban/Underground/Mountain/Forest)
Slayer +8/+6/+4/+2 at level 8
Ranger +8/+2/+2/+2 at level 18
Did a thread search and I did not see anyone talking about this.

Its exactly the same as the Rogue Talent. Which is yes, its pretty awesome.

This and this. Spend a point to deal sneak attack damage to an opponent for one round (and with a ranged weapon you still must be within minimum range). Spend a point to ignore damage reduction from a source for one round. ect.
