If followers of the Great Old Ones wind up demon fodder most of the time, what about Rovagug's own followers? Being chaotic evil as a matter of fact, they would wind up in the Abyss would they not? Or does Rovagug collect those souls to prevent more demons arising?
Forgive me if this is answered somwehre obvious, I need to do more reading up on the gods of Golarion.
Rovagug's followers mostly end up going to him in the Dead Vault, his prison plane.

To me, that is both really cool and really depressing.
Because either a) he's using their souls to build a bigger Vault or b) it's going to get miiiiiiiiiiighty spiritually crowded in there, if enough time passes.

Think pressure cooker.
Maybe Rovagug can make a breach if it builds up enough souls? But the vault was built by the architect of Hell, so I'm sure its capacity for the damned is staggering.

Fascinating. So there IS a way into his prison afterall... You just have to be a devout follower. I know there's a way some trickster God could exploit this as a means to get in for a non-worshipper. Too bad its impossible to get out..

That's more or less exactly what I meant. :)

Well, what does Rovagug make his spawn from? On paper, spending eternity with your god is one of the less horrible fates for evil souls, unless of course Rovagug fuses thousands of screaming, mad souls together over the course of centuries to mold into its world crushing spawn...
Although trying to break the prision through critical mass is an interesting idea too!

hypothetically merging the souls together to make the Spawn of Rovagug would be a legitimately good way to create a soul for them, but the Spawn are just as mortal as Great old Ones, so the Qlippoth would be working towards destroying them as well. although that would be a great alliance, Spawn and Old Ones working together... the destructive potential is limitless.
