Blasty bard?

Advice

Hello all!

I haven't gotten to play a game in a while so I've just been building weird unusual (for my area) characters. I was wondering what people think of bards who "blast". There aren't many magic attack spells on the bard list (one or two per level) and they aren't near the damage of other arcane of course. Bards aren't really meant that way but I wonder how well they could do..
Thunder caller archetype looks like it has some decent damage ability. Haven't looked if they stack with anything else useful though.. (Magician gets other arcane spells but doesn't stack I believe)

Is there any damaging spells of note ya'll happen to enjoy? I certainly like sonic damage in general, so I'm not too worried about the weakness too much just wondering if I missed anything particularly neat.

Sovereign Court

I would look at Bard Magician archetype. It allows you to pull from spells from the Wizard and Sorcerer list at certain levels. You would also look at taking the Eldritch Heritage Feat Tree to compliment your spell list.

The soundstriker bard from ultimate magic is far and away the best way to blast with a bard. Wierd Words at level 6 makes you among the better blasters in the game with little to no additional effort needed.

With the recent threads about changing Sound Striker, well, the short answer is that they're nerfing it into the ground.

Thundercaller is far and away the best blaster around. Nothing restricts it to only standard actions, so you end up with an AoE Sonic attack that deals (slightly) scaling damage with a wonderfully scaling Stun DC that you can eventually use 3 times per round. You won't find anything better, I promise.

Deafening Song Bolt is surprisingly potent for a bard spell. Deals quite a bit of sonic damage, no save and (for some weird reason) no SR either(!).
