Which energy type for an enchanter?

Advice

Ok so this may be a strange question, but from a purely fluff/flavor based point of view which energy type seems a best match for an character focused on enchantment?

Please provide your rationale for support.

Sonic.

Speaking words that cause physical pain is a definite wizard trope, enchanter compatible.

It's also a dang good metagame choice, so you shouldn't pass up this excellent chance to rationalize it.

It even works as bonus weapon damage. Just fluff the sonic damage as an activation word you speak with every strike.

Sonic sounds good to me...horrible pun intended. I also feel like fire has a hypnotic trance quality to it.

The Exchange

I'd say "cold," partly because it's an element that comes with its own color scheme and fashion motif, but mainly because enchantment is about numbing, weakening, or paralyzing the mind and will - all qualities I associate with cold.

Sonic, interesting I would not have considered that...I have heard ice/cold due to the hindering/locking mechanic...

Also had not considered the hypnotic aspect to fire..

good stuff guys keep em coming.

An 'acid' tongue?

No sonic sounds like the best fit.
