When does the attack roll take place for Vicous stomp

Rules Questions

From reading I would guess that the target is not prone since the AoO triggers before they fall.

Just making sure.

Dark Archive

Greater trip triggers before prone. Vicious Stomp triggers from them falling prone, so it happens after. And yes, they stack.

Ok, so as I understand then. With greater trip the defender does nto get the -4 to ac, and with vicous stomp they do.

Correct.

awesome thank you both very much

Why would you not get the prone bonus from Greater Trip?
It triggers off of a successful trip, they're not successfully tripped until they're prone.

TGMax, that's not quite true, a successful trip is beating the CMD. (the effect of that is them getting prone) similar to an attack roll, success is beating the AC, effect is damage dealt.

And here is the FAQ saying more or less the same thing.
