Maybe she's Kevin mom's sister from Supernatural. Crossover? :)
Not impossible, I guess. Tran is a Vietnamese last name, and lots of Vietnamese settled in China as refugees during the Vietnam War. That would make Kevin's mom ethnically Chinese and his father at least ethnically Vietnamese, though he too could have been born in China or the US.
Also, Kevin plays the cello. Or, y'know....did. :)

Well, yes, we have to hate Ward, and killing a nice guy is a way to do it.
What message do you think Skye sent the rest of the team? "Ward is HYDRA, and he's going to kidnap me." doesn't really help.
--
So, Victoria Hand sort of deserved to die. Her "Want to shoot the right one?" comment moved her over the moral boundary line. As if shooting Coulson's team on nothing more than suspicion wasn't enough.
--
What had Garrett done, to make Hand so sure he was Hydra that she sent two killer drones after his plane? If she was willing to dismantle the Bus, why did she turn it around and march it back to HQ, instead of blowing it up, either with self-destruct charges, sending it careening into a mountain, or with more drones?

I dunno, I'm liking the new Ward quite a bit as a villain...
And the point where he became irredeemable, for me, was showing Garret the gravitonium. That's what clinche the "Yup, he's been evil all along." thing for me.
What message do you think Skye sent the rest of the team? "Ward is HYDRA, and he's going to kidnap me." doesn't really help.
I honestly have no clue.

Yeah, that's probably fair.
It wasn't about certainty. She wasn't absolutely certain that anyone was Hydra (except maybe Coulson, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't even 100% on that one). She lacked the ability to remote control Garret's plane, so she played "Better safe than sorry." and tried to take him out. She was actually pleased when he wound up on the Bus so she could capture him instead.
And she didn't blow the Bus both because she wanted it more-or-less intact (a few bullet holes can be fixed...the whole plane blown up? Not so much.), and because while she was pretty sure Coulson was Hydra she was not sure at all about the rest of the team and wanted prisoners, not corpses, whenever feasible. She was ruthless, but not a complete monster.

So, what you're saying is that Hand, who was only really sure of 7 agents' loyalty, was going to kill anybody that she suspected might be HYDRA?
This is why it is hard to be too upset about her murder. :(
And Skye wanted to be part of SHIELD ... why? "It's the only family I've ever known, but Mom is kinda psycho and will probably try to kill me."
Agent Hand was never "Mom." That was Agent May.

Only if she couldn't capture them. As far as we know she didn't actually kill anyone.
And Skye wanted to be part of SHIELD ... why? "It's the only family I've ever known, but Mom is kinda psycho and will probably try to kill me."
I'd say Hand was more the psycho aunt.

1 problem: She said kill EVERYONE except Coulson, he's mine...
no taking prisoners there...

Well, according to Marvel Studios, they have "plans" for properties including The Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Agent Carter, and a couple others that frankly would make a better TV Mini Series than a full blown Theatrical release. So one possibility is that they could use Agents as a spring-board to launch mini-series off of.
That is what I would do anyway, Set up an Agents season for Oct/Nov through May setting seeds for another character or group. Run their mini-series / movies over the summer. Then wash rinse repeat as needed.

So, after last night's episode, I have to wonder: what was up with Fury? Why would he subject Coulson, of all people, to TAHITI?
Good question. Could it be Coulson's own "contingency" protocol in case of his death? :) Maybe Coulson was evil bastard and wanted to hide TAHITI from Fury, only to keep the benefits for himself or HYDRA? Remember how "gently" he was treated when he was captured by the flower lady? :) I think they used to work together.... :)

Hmm, assuming the genuine clairvoyant (if such a person exists) is/was HYDRA why would HYDRA not know about 'the guest house' though if Coulson was HYDRA too, unless they *did* know but were playing some ridiculous bluff operation? (Unless competing branches of HYDRA are assumed, which knew nothing of one another's doings and/or the idea was to get Coulson back to the guest house in the hope it jogged his memory.)

random thought: I think part of the reason I've always preferred Marvel over DC is that they use New York and other real world locations (excluding Latveria/Wakanda/Genosha)
this whole Gotham / Metropolis never really worked well within the United States of America concept... I mean do they refer to existing states by their name but not the cities? weird....

What an awesome episode! I really enjoyed the hack out of it. Good action, good character development (in particular, Ward's obsession with Sky is interestingly done. He was loosing his cool there), nice special effects. Deathlock seems pretty much invincible right now, when compared to what the rest of the cast can do - which is awesome, really.
Also, I like how all those high ranking SHIELD agents have...ummm... special cars. The scene involving the car in this episode was just so cool.
So no word yet about a season 2? I'd really like it if there would be a second story with these characters, and I'd really like it if they'll design it around a movie again.

I read an article a few weeks back that listed it as on the bubble, but likely to renew giving Disney/Marvel/and ABC's tight connection.
you know, at this point i'm not worried even if it gets cancelled... we're going to get 4 new marvel shows on Netflix, and with all the Marvel movies coming down the pipe, we'll survive. Chances are that even if Agents of SHIELD gets cancelled, another Marvel show would be brought forward by Disney for Network / prime time TV...
"MOONKNIGHT" (they could go nuts on the flashbacks cop out on this one... even more so than the ARROW show... lol)

That's how you tell the difference between a REAL Shield Agent and a learner still on probation. :)

The list I saw the other day had SHIELD listed as a "certain renewal."
EDIT: Not the same article I read, but some of the same info. >Link<

Not to mention, failing to buckle up. :)

I agree. Skye was never an annoying character. The only thing annoying was the favoritism she got from the show writers early on. It is good to see some of her detractors coming around.

I pretty much always liked Skye. I think that the writers' focus on her in the first five or six episodes was because she was the audience POV character. Once the regular pace was established, the writers were more able to focus on the team as a whole.

Agreed.
I still think they over did it though.

These were pretty much exactly the same complaints that fans of Torchwood had over that show's audience POV character, Gwen Cooper.
