.JPG Preview = Small preview of the entire map. Lets you see the content before downloading the larger files.

PDF Battlemap = Suitable for printing and assembly on standard sized paper.

PNG High resolution = Exported map image at 200dpi .PNG images. These images will serve two purposes.

First - If someone wants to take the file to a print shop or kinkos they can be printed out on a large format printer and will print to scale at 1" per 5 foot for use with miniatures. That way you get one map without having to put the pdf together however this option can get expensive.

Second - If you want to use them for VT you can scale them down depending on the VT you are using. Most virtual tabletop programs tend to use maps at 50 or 100 pixels per grid square. Battlegrounds works best with maps that are 122 pixels per grid square (this ensures no pixelation even at full zoom). The images I will be uploading is at 200 pixels per grid so they will scale down to whatever you will need, just use a graphics program to re-size the images. I don't suggest using .JPG as they will loose a lot of clarity.

This is a Work In Progress Thread so I will post maps as I complete them.

If you are looking for maps for the first book - The Snows of Summer then they can be found here:

Here comes the first one. The map for the Howlings will be done in six parts as it is a huge map. I thought I would start this thread with the first one which includes the Main Gate and the general portion of the heart of the map.

Sovereign Court

Fantastic work. Just started this book in my campaign. The PCs really like the maps. You rock!. /paid

Thanks Nezthalek.....

The next part of the Howlings map set should be ready by the weekend.

Sovereign Court

Any update for us on the next map?

Got sidetracked... should be back on these shortly.

Shadow Lodge

Great work on these. It would be great to get the rest of these maps also!!!

The Exchange

Again, wow! I have Dunjinni and love how these look. Have you done any other adventure paths?

You can find maps for the entire Hook Mountain book of the RotRL adventure path in the AP's appropriate forum.

Shadow Lodge

We are not looking for Hook Mountain - we are looking for the Shackled Hut maps.

He's responding to Fake's question, Glue.

@glueside

I will be finishing the maps for the Howlings over the next week or so. However as my real life business is headed into the busiest season of the year I am afraid I will not have any extra time to work on maps after that until after the first of the year. I even have to put my two PF campaigns I run on hold every year during this time.

Grand Lodge

Anyone have an idea how much each would cost to print on a large scale printer at Kinko's?

Between $5-$10 a sq ft.

Dude your maps are beautiful, I'm using the Snows of Summer ones on Google docs for my campaign here on the boards. Thank you for doing this.

I used your Pale Tower map for my players last week, it was absolutely fantastic, really drew them into the experience. I printed out the PDF verion on 110lb card stock at Kinkos for about $16, then stuck them to large boards I found at Michael's using glue dots, complete with "fog of war" cutouts stuck on top.

Really hoping you manage to finish this Howlings one soon so I can use it in a couple of weeks time when my players get there! If not, I may have to resort to making my own... What tools do you use to make them?

Sent you a donation too, keep up the good work! :)

Thank you for the donation. If more people donated the maps would get done a little faster.... lol.

I use Dundjinni to do the map work. I use a combination of artpacks from a wide variety of sources including custom done art as well.

I am uploading the newest section of the map now. Will post it shortly. The Howlings should be finished within the next few days. End of this coming week at the latest.

Thanks man, I'll definitely donate whenever I use a map, which probably means I'll be making a donation for The Howlings map in a couple of weeks! The Paizo maps are great, but the fact that these are of a printable size is just fantastic. Here's my party fighting Radosek: http://i.imgur.com/hBI4FSa.jpg

Obviously don't rush to make these maps on my account - I may try my hand with Dundjinni myself - but it definitely makes my life a lot easier! :)

Thanks for the picture @Bothari.

I will be uploading the next part of the map shortly. Exporting now.

I am doing something a little different with the top left quadrant of the map. Since this is where the main road is that leads into other parts of Whitethrone I have increased the type of houses to include different designs and obviously to represent that the party is leaving the howlings.

Also since this is the part of the map that the PC's may never see while in the howlings since there are no encounter locations on it I wanted to make it where it could be used for a street in any village of Irrisen.

I plan on working up some random encounters for it as the PC's head off into Whitethrone proper to give them a feel of the changing tone of the area.

Again I will be posting this shortly.

Thank you, bwatford, for all of your hard work on maps in "Snows of Summer" and now "The Shackled Hut." They have made my work as DM so much easier and my players have really enjoyed them. They look so much better than just using wet-erase markers on by plain battle map.

I made a donation to say "thanks" and hopefully to help a little. Best of luck in your own campaign.

Should be able to get the last part of the howlings done tomorrow or Tuesday. I am also already working on Logrivich's Clock Tower. The ground floor is mostly done. Should have the tower complete by the end of the week (Crossing Fingers). It will be a while before the Market Square is ready. The Market Square probably will not get completed until March due to the shear size of the project. It will be a little larger than the howlings. I am not sure if I will map the entire square or if I will just map the encounter areas for it. I'll have to lay it out and see what it looks like.

Will keep everyone updated.

It seems like you are running perfectly in sync with my party! I anticipate they will get to The Howlings next week, and the Market Square by the start of March. :)

@ Botjari

I am exporting the final piece of the howlings now. Will post it shortly. I have divided the Market Square up and if I cut the width and height down by a couple of squares I may be able to get the entire map in four sections (64 Pages). Which I believe I will do and just map the entire square.

Awesome, I'll get these printed this weekend probably! By the way, I noticed that Part 1 of The Howlings map has a grid of black lines, while the other parts all have a grid made from blue dots. I like both, but it might be wise to make them both the same! (I'm looking at the high-res .PNG)

Actually disregard that, the PDF versions use blue dots in all parts, which is what I'll be printing! :)

Been pulling an all nighter....lol

Exporting Logrivich's Clock Tower now.

I must say it is some of my best work to date.

The tower came out awesome, if I do say so myself.

Would love to here feedback on it from all you guys as soon as I get it posted. Which will be shortly.

Without further wait. I give you Logrivich's Clock Tower a week earlier than expected.

Looks absolutely great mate, I love the details. Only negative is the placement of the 2nd and 4th floors on the PDF version. 2nd floor has a teeny sliver on second pages, and the 4th floor also has a very small section. Printing costs less than a dollar a page, but it'd still be a nice saving of $4. :)

Either way, I'll definitely be using this in the coming weeks when my party gets there, I am excited. We did less than I expected last night, so The Howlings are still a couple of weeks away I think.

@Bothari

Because of the size of the second and fourth floor they did run over a bit. It was either that or have pieces of them show up on other maps which I wanted to avoid. That way you can put each floor together separately and not have overflow onto other level maps.

The way it is the first floor is 6 pages (3x3)

The second floor and fourth floor are 4 pages each (2x2) and if you trim off the excess space off the bottom they are just a little bit bigger than 2 pages. (2x1)

The third floor is a single page map.

This way you get 4 separate maps without having to have pieces of multiple floors on the same map.

I print my maps at home on my old cannon photo printer. I print on Staples photo supreme Mat Two Sided Photo Paper. By doing this I can put both the second and fourth floor on the same paper on opposite sides of each other. Then I have them laminated at staples so we can dry erase on them if need be and then roll them up for easy transport to the game store where we play.

I use aftermarket ink from LDProducts so the cost is much cheaper than having them printed plus they look way better on the mat photo paper.

Also by having them laminated I can tape construction paper over the top for hidden areas without tearing the map.

Just my two cents.....

Oh I meant to say that I LOVED how you have made them not overflow onto other level maps, that is totally awesome. I think it's great as they are, I'm looking forward to my players seeing this map.

I actually used removable glue dots from Michaels to stick "fog of war" paper cutouts over the hidden areas, which worked really well. They tore off without damaging the map underneath.

I don't have a printer at home and no real desire to get one, I get them printed at the nearest FedEx Office which costs a little under $1/page, and then I glued them to big cardboard sheets for structure. They are one shot usage for me I'm never realistically going to re-run the same area, so I was quite happy marking the maps with permanent marker.

Thanks again for your hard work. :)

Here's a glimpse at the mockup I did for the players for The Haunted Village encounter on the way to Whitethrone.

Reign of Winter - The Shackled Hut - The Haunted Village - 3D Terrain Image.

Damn that's amazing. Where'd you get the half destroyed house from, or did you make it?

Made it from a PDF I purchased for it....

http://www.davesgames.net/catalog-ruined-church.htm

I am exporting the first part of Whitethrone Market Square now. Actually it is part number 3 but that is the section I started with. :) The Marketsquare will be a 4 part map. The first part is the lower left quadrant or what I call part number 3.

It is the section with the pond encounter. I took a few liberties with the map because the one in the book was just god awe-full.

First I wanted to really grasp the feeling for the map that the market square is truly in the middle of a hostile takeover so I added buildings here and there stuck in the magically growing forest that is taking over the square. This will obviously give the players buildings that they can't get to for the forest and more of a sense of what is going on.

Second with the pond/small lake encounter with the water raining upwards I wanted to give the map a real sense of it doesn't belong so I made it look like the hole for the water was ripped right out of the city street. I also added a soft green glow to the center of the water where the ripples meet.

Third I wanted to continue the over run look of the map so I added the streets mostly snow covered now with patches of cobblestone here and there.

I believe my players will enjoy this map and I hope your players do as well.

I will post it shortly.

Continuing to stay well ahead of schedule. Exporting the next part of the Marketsquare now. This will be part 4 of 4 so it will be the lower right quadrant. This is the one with the 2 encounters. Tottering Treehouse and Altar of Earth

Also the Marketsquare is a four part map and not a six part map as stated in the last pots.

Will upload it and post it shortly.

I will be using the Clock Tower map on Monday - as usual, I think it'll really improve immersion for my players and make for a memorable game. I made a small donation to your paypal in thanks!

Thank you @Joseph Mandato, please let us know how it goes.

Will do!

Oh, one suggestion for people who use 3D terrain (like Dwarven Forge) as well as map printouts like bwatford's. Don't throw out those old printed out maps when you're done with them. You can cut out pieces of dungeon decor like beds, bookcases, altars, etc and use them to spruce up an otherwise spartan Dwarven Forge layout.

bwatford, glad to see you back and your maps up again! I look forward to downloading this set! The first chapter maps came out beautifully and my players were very impressed with your work!

In the clocktower second floor room with the children's books I recognize the 3.5 PH, DMG, XPH, and Fiendish codex plus the 1e DMG and Ravenloft modules.

Nice touches.

I can't quite make out the books under the DMGs or where the maps are from though, what did you use for sources for those?
