1 person marked this as a favorite.

Too often the crap going on in the world makes me feel jaded, so I'm really happy to see stories like this:

In a nutshell, two men who do superhero shows to help teach children about positive behavior happened to be nearby when a house caught fire. The one dressed as Batman was an ex fire fighter; they both ran to the scene to see if they could help, while the authorities were on their way. The only occupant currently in the house was the family's cat which they managed to rescue and save its life.

Costumed or no, it's nice to know there are people who will still selflessly think of others and try to help when opportunity arises.

I suppose a Dex-tar joke would be too obscure.

Kudos to both men.

Hopefully Batman took off his cape before rushing into a burning building...

Thanks for that DQ.

As he's a former firefighter, I presume he knew to take reasonable precautions.

I'm not sure what his costume is made of but he said it actually helped protect him from the heat, so cape aside, it must be made of pretty stern stuff.

Amusingly, I noticed one of the firetrucks in the background in one of the shots of the newsclip in the link is named "Knight."

The Exchange

Dang, Bats forgot to swoop away before anybody could determine his real identity. But Cap would be proud.

So Batman saved a cat from a burning house, and now everyone knows his identity? Crap, that's gonna cost him...

No, clearly Bruce Wayne got away, and now everybody thinks he's this former fire fighter named Buckland. Duh. ;)

Actually the firefighter is Kal Kent, and Buckland is just the name he gave the PD. :-)

This gives me hope that someday there might be another DC/Marvel crossover as good as JLA/Avengers. :)

(Though I have to wonder if the lack of Captain America in the news clip means that Marvel didn't sign off on allowing footage of their trademark to air. lol)

Thank you DQ for good news.
