I'm trying to figure out how to put in the Leveling system in my campaign. I'm doing the basic XP give-away (ie, you gained 50 XP each for slaying the goblin!), but what kind of Leveling system (besides the one in the Core Rulebook; those XP levels are too high for me) would be good for me?
Forget XP. Level the PCs based on story events ('win a boss fight, go up a level'), or just every few sessions. The XP system is nothing more than a pacing mechanism, saying 'you should go through X fights before a level'. It's completely unnecessary.
