That is great Mr. Ziggles/Gobbo Horde!

If you want you can have the first seat in my campaign. :)

Well you should already have sneak attack if getting a prestige class that has that ability. Sneak attack is not advanced because you gain other abilities normally, though you could substitute an ability growth with sneak attack. Think about it.

Oh, and I should tell you guys. I will not be having any psionic characters in my group. If you wish you can create another player or substitute the psionic class for another one, go right ahead. Or hopefully the other DM likes psionics. Sorry just a personal preference, I will let the gun preference slide, after all we are being cheesy.

Sczarni

If your ready to get going, I can go ahead and just start running it in yours, for the sake of going sooner rather than waiting heh.

I could join your game gm wolf.

To simplify the reason behind things stacking, look at it like this.

Which side of your character is getting the prestige class? This side must be one that is able to qualify for that prestige class. Now if both sides have the same ability and then you have a prestige class that modifies that ability, it modifies the side in which it is replacing class levels.

After that is taken care of, now you compare which side has the faster rate of growth (or highest max bonus) and that is the side that you get your ability from.

Beyond that, I'm thinking of dropping the halfling for a summoner /maybe wizard (conjurer). I am debating on taking levels of darkfire adept, but I may just got both 20/20 for the 1 permanent summoning spell active. Taht way I can have a full eidolon and a full summon available, and then of course get into battle myself with twin eidolon.

Alright, I've dropped Sneak Attack back to +10d6 for now. Still good, just not as crazy good. Stats are in the profile, I think they're good.

@Bloody Baron and GM Wolf - What is your call on Crafting feats?

I'm still trying to decide exactly what I want to make, but I will have a character up by the end of this weekend.

Current Choices:

Magus / (Ninja or Rogue or Alchemist) - The Vanishing Swordsman, The fastest swordsman alive, or The Eternal Wandering Ronin

Wizard / Alchemist - The wealthiest man alive?

Monk / Fighter - No monk has ever flurried so much...

Sczarni

Hirtz factor, I'm not sure what you're thinking with monk/fighter when you say "no monk has ever flurried so much"

your BAB when you flurry is calculated as if you had greater two weapon fighting and a BAB of 20 at lvl 20... basically unless you get extra arms and the GM allows you to get more attacks from em... you'll flurry as much with monk/fight as a straight lvl 20 monk... although you'll have considerably more combat feats and higher to hit due to greater weapon focus and weapon training.

I'd love to see someone do Druid + monk to be perma Panda... Kung-fu Panda

I'm thinking him capable of making 24 attacks in a round is what I'm thinking. And he could do that without arms.

Sczarni

I'm thinking you're either doing something wrong or exploiting natural attacks with manufactured attacks.

-edit- as a monk of the four winds, you could blow 6 ki, to add three standard attacks to your full round flurry. That'd get you to 10 (7 from flurry, 3 from standard) then you could add in medusa's wrath, that'd get you to 12. Just don't see how you can get 12 more attacks in, even with natural attack cheese.

Neither, it's simply using the rules to their fullest.

Edit - This method does not require something as circumstantial as Medusa's Wrath.

If I choose to go with said character, all will be revealed.

Sczarni

Maybe you should share it, I'm fairly used to the rules and I know it's not really possible except with manufactured weapons + natural attacks and a few niche things, but it's not something you can do every round, and 24 attacks is not something I can see happening in the rules, even with gestalt, you're limited by the Full-round attack option.

Gestalt opens up a lot of interesting options, including a Monk/Fighter that can make 24 attacks whether he has arms or not. You are correct that this is not an every round ability, but he could use it rather frequently through out the day if I made him in a specific manner.

On another note, I could probably make a 20th-level single classed character capable of making 24 attacks a round as well.

However, I would like to choose which character I would like to play before sharing my secrets.

Sczarni

I'm not saying to play or not play, but it's odd to be so cryptic about how you achieve such a staggering amount of attacks.

It's all rather simple when you can make a Full-Attack as a standard action.

Edit - Looking into him more, it makes me sad that monks need to be Lawful for the most part and Cayden Cailean is Chaotic Good.

Bingo! That was the key! I just figured out hou you do it and I am impressed :) I guess I won't reveal it because that is your call, but I say just say it...

Btw GM Wolf, I will take you up on that offer :)

I hear what you mean about the alignment restrictions, I want to be a lawful barbarian and you want to be a chaotic monk D:

Btw, I think I can beat even your 28 attacks a round, let me see if I can (pure therory crafting)!

Edit: Dangit! I would need to be level 21 to do it.... I was going to add in pathfinder chroniclers ability to inspire action (gain extra standard action per reader) but it requires 9 levels :(

The funny thing is the Archetypes kind of make since as a match up to me as well. The simplicity of it is that you do use the Monk of the Four Winds Slow Time ability in conjunction with the Mobile Fighter's capstone ability Whirlwind Blitz. This in conjunction with the weapon enhancement Speed. This combination of abilities not only allows you to Flurry three times in a round for eight attacks each, yes Speed activates each time, but it also allows you to move to activate the Mobile Fighter's Leaping Attack ability for the bonus to attack and damage.

It is possible to push the bar further as well.

Yup, that is pretty much what I figured.
Now I am wondering about something... give me a minute (evil plan forming in my brain... must... laugh... outloud!)
Muhahahaha!

Mr. Ziggles wrote:

I just think Cayden Cailean makes the most sense in terms of a deity for him, but the alignments don't really mesh. I say this because it works rather well when mixed with the Drunken Master archetype.

Mr. Ziggles wrote:

Yeah, I could push the bar as well. But to be fair, are we considering creatures under a player's control to be part of these attacks?

Sczarni

Again, this vague and unwilling to share seems odd.

Also, there is the agithon aasimar trait to let you be neutral and a monk.

It may be that I'm a bit paranoid. Either way, you may wish to take a look at this post. It explains how you can make a Monk/Fighter that can make 24 attacks.

Oh, nice suggestion. Enlightened Warrior would allow me to make him as a worshiper of Cayden Cailean...though the context still seems a bit off.

Here.
Mobile fighter let's you full attack as a standard, monk of the four winds let's you take 3 standard actions.
So 4 attacks normally, 3 for TWF, 1 for haste is 8 attacks per full attack and I think the monk can spend a ki point to get an extra, not sure... 8x3=24.

You use Flurry of Blows 3 times basically. However, you cannot expend a ki point to gain an extra attack because your already using your swift action to expend 6 ki points to use the Slow Time ability.

Mr. Ziggles wrote:

Can you target yourself with Inspire Action?

probably not, but the trick is to combine it with greater epic tales, you let your familiar, your horse, your chohort, your summoned angels ect, ect, ect. to read it for you.
Even the simple trick of giving one to each person in the party so that they all read to each other and each person gains an extra standard is good. (the original idea was to combine it with master summoner, and have all your summons read it).

But I just remembered the be all, end all multi-attacker. It is psionic, it is the Marksman, specifically the finesse style. Its capstone is ridiculous. You take a +5 Distance heavy crossbow (all 2400ft of range) and you bounce an attack between as many targets, as many times, and as far as you want. Combine it with a Monk of the 4 winds, and its retarded.
Standard action to make a ranged attack. The attack hits the first target, then bounces to the next target. It can travel as far as the weapon can shoot (2400ft) and at no ranged penalty. It can hit each target a maximum of your wis mod times (aka, 18 base, 2 racial, 5 level up, 6 headband, 5 tome. Or 13 times each).
If there are 2 targets beside themselves, hit each one 13 times. If there is a camp of targets, hit each one 13 times.... If there is 1 target 10 feet away and another 2000ft away, you can hit it with no penalty...
Combine it with monk of the 4 winds, and do it 3 times a round :D
Completely broken....

Edit: Whoops! You still take ranged penalties for this attack... So its not AS broken...
Edit: Whoops! Whoops! I was right the first time! You dont take ranged penalties (as per your 19th level ability)

Sczarni

So how would you do it with a single class? =D

also.

Quote:
The monk cannot use these actions to cast spells or use spell-like abilities, and cannot combine them to take full-attack actions
Quote:
Whirlwind Blitz (Ex): At 20th level, a mobile fighter can make a full-attack action as a standard action. He may also use the Whirlwind Attack feat as a standard action. This ability replaces weapon mastery.

Whilwind blitz doesn't change the action type, just that it's now a standard to perform (semantics I know, but this is what rules lawyering does) but the Ki use specifies can't use a full attack action.

Quote:

Full Attack

If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough (see Base Attack Bonus in Classes), because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon, or for some special reason, you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks. You do not need to specify the targets of your attacks ahead of time. You can see how the earlier attacks turn out before assigning the later ones.

The mobile fighter changes full attack to only use a standard, but the ki ability doesn't care how many actions it takes, it states you can't full attack with it.

Now you could flurry 8(attacks,) medusa 2(attacks), Whirlwindx3... since it changes the ability to not be key'd in on a full-attack.

Actually if you wanted to talk semantics, it only says you cannot combine them to take a full attack action. It doesnt actually say you cannot take full attack actions, just you cannot combine multiple standard actions into a full attack action...
Again, semantics, and, really, it doesnt matter one way or the other for me much :P

Sczarni

true, I think the intent of it all is stretching it, but these are reasons that gestalt is a tricky bag of worms. and really gets broken when you factor in capstone abilities.

Yup, very true!
As with all builds, consult your GM, especially for high end, high powered, double classed monstrosities like these ;)

Shadow Lodge

Oh, I'm still here -- but is there still room? I have several concepts rolling around in my head:

1) Funky Phantom knock off -- Ghostly Scaredy cat with detective followers. Since I can't figure out how to do the "ghostly" part properly right at the moment, classes are undetermined.
2) Lord Admiral "Captain Caveman" (q.v.) Marcus Trailarius. Urban Barbarian Wizard. Leadership. All followers are female and quite competent, with a penchant for detective work. Says "unga bunga" a lot. Race: Probably the four armed one from advanced races.
3) Roger Lovarius"Peeping Tom" Thomas. Gnome with a penchant for voyeurism. Wizard/Druid.
4) The Repentant Lich. Lich + Helm of Aligment Change. Was NE; now is NG. Wizard/Something. ("Something" is a technical term, of course) Identifying quote: "What? When they kill you, you kill them back!"
5) (Not cheesy enough). Ultimate Cavalry. Choose classes to build on the Cavalry theme (with Wizard probably as the "primary" class).
6) Preferred. Dragon Mount. Would require figuring out how to play a Dragon, though it could be "Dragon/Wizard" (or some such) for the classes. Rider could be a PC or an NPC (via Leadership). Cheese inserted IC.

Etc.

The trouble is always trimming them down.
:D

Damn, I'm still not really happy with my submission... I just can't decide whether I'm getting anything ridiculous or cheesy enough.

Now I'm considering doing some kind of ultimate archer, probably a Fighter(Archer)/Monk(Zen Archer). Shoot around buildings, shoot weapons out of people's hands, shoot their feet out from under them... Could be quite a lot of fun. I'll check out how it'd work.

Hey hey everyone, I've been really busy lately and have been delaying the kicking off of this campaign, as I have another campaign going that's already suffering a little bit. Anyways, I think it'd be best for me to hand this one over to DM Wolf now that he's stepped up. I may try something like this for the future, but for now I wish you all the best of luck.

DM Wolf: Expect a pm from me with some early details I had worked out.

Baron can you make sure to send Wolf the details of chaos burst. It is kind of a big part of my character.

@Mr. Ziggles - I tend to stay away from third-party creations. Thusly I'm really not familiar with them for the most part. Otherwise, I'm sure I'd find some other interesting ideas.

And you have me curious about the Pathfinder Chronicler now. It makes me curious if I could push the bar up to 40 attacks in a round.

@lantzkev - Pathfinder itself was not created with Gestalt in mind and Pathfinder Society play tends to end around level 12 for the most part because they realize the game becomes rather broken around that level.

I'm not willing to give away the secret to other builds quite yet, but I can guarantee you that it is rather easy to make 24 attacks in a round with quite a few classes. I'm not going to say their the best attacks in the world, but you can definitely make up to that number without too much trouble at level 20.

any room in here for another?

my idea would be a transmogrifist (focusing on being forms that amuse me. off the top of my head, a black cat sounds fun) and a vitalist so i could actually heal us.

besides... who would attack an innocent little kitty?

inspiration for personality would be Salem, from Sabrina the Teenage Witch

granted, it wouldnt be as mind-numbingly all-powerful as some folks, but i hope i could keep up

You realize that we probably got a good 5 guys on this team alone that would "attack an innocent little kitty"?
Hahaah!
And sadly psionics are out :( so you would have to think of something else :)

Given up on the archer concept, but I got a new idea: an awakened animal!

Looks like 2,450 gp to get awaken cast on me, and go from there. Any limits to what I could potentially choose, GM Wolf, or do you not want me to try this at all? I'll roll for Int and Cha below, and disregard them if it's not allowed.

Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14
Charisma Increase: 1d3 ⇒ 1

Considering that we are using 30pb and 30rp, what would your stats look like in comparison? Also, have you considered anamorphic animal?
I remember one campaign I was debating using an awakened blink dog, I had him looking like a poodle and he was a summoner with a bag lady eidolon and he would ride in its purse. Shudder.... what was I thinking... and I thought Mr. Ziggles was scarry!

Now for my pardicament... Indesisivness is killing me!
Kommandar Killjoy. Gunslinger/synthesist. A goblin riding a tank!
Mr. Ziggles. Cavalier/Barbarian. Terror incarnate. Tramplar Exemplar.
The liar. Gnome Rakshasa Sorcerer/Legalistic Oracle with the Pseudologia Fantastica drawback (chronic liar) and possibly wild magic feats. Constant shapeshifter. Master illusionist. Nothing is as it seems with him.
The Destroyer. Wreaker Oracle of Battle/Breaker Barbarian with the Deadly Strength drawback. Everything he touches gets disintrigated. Everything... Weapons that hit him explode. Items he so much as touches fall apart. A natural force of destruction. Actually, he would be VERY hard to equip...

What do I choose???

I may change my submission to a Savage Barbarian/Martial Artist using this race.

Enlightened Human:

Enlightened Human
Humanoid (Human) 0
medium 0
normal speed 0
standard language 0
advanced abilities (+2 physical, +4 wis, -2 cha) 4
defensive training, greater 4
lucky, greater 4
flexible bonus feat 4
skilled 4
fleet-footed 3
fast 1
low-light vision 1

Sczarni

I thought we were using 25 rp.

We are and that is. 4 x 5 = 20 3 + 1 + 1 = 5 20 + 5 = 25

Sczarni

I wish it flagged when folks edit like some forums, someone wrote 30rp.

Oops :P that was my bad, I wrote 30rp.
Another note, the deadly Strength drawback makes you take an automatic unarmed strike whenever you touch someone. Mind if I include "something" in there as well?

Skipping past a lot of posts to start responding to things:

Honestly at this point if you explain it well a monk could be chaotics, very abstract but possible, just like a barbarian could be lawful. Just explain it well.

I would like to see a few paragraphs of background which gives you some heroics or what not.

I say Mr. Ziggles

Loup Blanc what are you awakening?

Baron Bloodless, I was hoping to grab the few that you were not going to use... Crazy now I am the main GM, well this makes things very different.

I have a few ideas and was going to ask my players what theme they wanted to play. Now that I have all of you... You will need to make a few adjustments...

1. If you have a psionic class change it to a core class.
2. I will only allow one gunslinger or alchemist, if you don't want to change I will let those with those classes duel. I sure hope I don't have to make a braket.
3. Where would you guys like to start and play in? The Desert Abyss, the Wastelands on the Abyss, Forests on a fey plane, etc.
4. dungeon crawl, modified module, open area (protect the town, then find the threat, end the threat), shoot I dunno for 20s

Shadow Lodge

1. NP.
2. NP.
3. Sea Town? Or something by a nice sized lake?
4. My vote would be Open Area -- Protect the innocents. If you're gonna play "modified module", leave me out -- I haven't played any yet and want to keep my eligibility.

And to my questions: do you have room? any thoughts on the Dragon?

1. N/A
2. N/A
3. I could go fro anything really, Preferably on the material plane.
4. I would second Otomo's vote for open area.

I was looking mainly at either a gorilla, a lion, or a brown bear. Gorilla would probably be an interesting Rage Mage type character, like a Barbarian/Wizard with levels in the PrC. Lion would probably be a ranger and/or rogue, maybe paladin as that seems fitting (only if I can get the Charisma high enough), think Aslan perhaps? The bear would definitely be a heavy-duty warrior. Maybe an Armored Hulk Barbarian along with other stuff. I like the idea of a grizzly in spiked full plate.

On second thought I am not going to change my submission I will stick with Oom.
@GM Wolf - Are you still using Baron's "Wild Magic" feats?

1. Np
2. Np. I might have to pull out the tank just for such a battle royale ,')
3. I think it would be really neat to be wandering through some really inhispitable terrain :) we would need a reason to all be at this remote place... Called there maybe?
4. Open area sounds good. How about a goal? Imortality? Ultimate power? Godhood (we arebasically gods... it says so right in my title ^-^)? Planeshopping? Looking for our own slice of Hell/Abyss/Heaven/Valhalla to call home (and subdue)? I like that one, maybe we need each others help to accomplish it and we intend to gather each other to gain our respective places. Oom might want a chunk of hell/abyss, Hellsbane might want his own slice of heaven or maybe destroy a chunk of hell, Mr. Ziggles would want a chunk of heaven, just so he could laugh at them winged pussies (he can't fly :P) ect. It could be intresting to try and wrest each other to help their respective causes :) I am pretty sure that there was a ring/item that let you call your friends to you but we could always make something of the sort. What's going to happen to the headmaster and the school D: Our base of opperations? Our assignment is to take over a plane?
5. I'm adding one. How much combat/social encounters do you want? Massive battles against hordes of enemies? Epic battles against singular might foes? Arena style? Intruge at the school? Petty squabbles like little school kids (just because we are powerful dosent mean we are mature...)? Fighting gods/becoming gods? Influtration style even?
How much? 50/50, 25/75, 80/40, 90/10¿

1.not effected
2.not effected
3.If everyone wants sea town I could live with it. The worldwound sounds fun for me.
4.open area sounds pretty good.

Ah, ya. Since things have changed quite a bit, I plan on doing another player/character roster here soon :)

I think my question keeps getting overlooked. Is there any benefit for taking a crafting feat? Will we be allowed to purchase said items at half price if we have the skill required to make it?
