Tell me about your magic using character. It doesn't matter if it's arcane or divine, or something else. I'll get the ball rolling by telling you about one of my favorites: Tazzenkaf Auvyrndar
This was a high level (13th) 3.5 drow campaign. Taz was the house wizard of House Auvryndar. He was also an alienist. He had several unusual obessive compulsive traits; he counted his steps out loud, avoided stepping on cracks, and was deathly afraid of insects. He was a germaphobe, and could often be seen frantically cleaning...everything. In addition, he possessed a terrible stutter (which I roleplayed, much to the other players frustration). His only friend and confidante was his pseudonatural toad familar, who acted as the calm voice of reason to his insanity.
Taz was a blast to play, and remains one of my fondest role-playing experiences.
Okay, my Telepath Psion Seraio (suh-RYE-oh) /Darius.
Played in a Dark Sun campaign 10 years back that went for 2 1/2 years and climaxed with us facing Draegoth (Draegoth Ascending). My telepath, Seraio, died but his party-member, Povan (a wizard) managed to become a sorcerer king.
Couple years back we started back up again, new campaign, same world, Povan is the new sorcerer king of Tyr. Because of events that happened in the original campaign which I won't go into, all of the kreen races have been driven mad and are going to invade the tablelands. I play a new telepath psion, Darius, who has a psicrystal that once belonged to another telepath named Seraio. In fact, Darius is slowly BECOMING Seraio. Even if he doesn't quite know it yet.
More than a little miffed that his old pal Povan never used his phenomenal cosmic power to raise him from the dead, Seraio is setting about building an army for himself, one mindslave at a time (Dominate). I'm utilizing an 8th level psionic power called Mind Seed to make psionic duplicates of myself (a la Agent Smith), all with the identical agenda.
I haven't gotten to play him as much as I would like (usually GM) but this is my all time favorite character:
Kirtap Joril - 1/2 elf sorcerer
Kirtap is extremely focused on enchantment, bluff, diplomacy and the like. He once spent an two hours of real time working to bluff/disguise his way into getting the local stablemaster to give the party a discount on renting horses that the party could have easily bought outright.
He loved to charm monsters and try to acutally make them friends. Tons of fun to play! Hoping to actually get to play him again now in PF.
Ostag - a natural lycanthrope master summoner from the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. He was banished from his village upon becoming of age when his lycanthropy revealed itself for the first time. Having lived on his own as a wanderer over the last 13 years or so he's had his angry years and from that has attracted the attention of a few different groups devoted to hunting lycanthropes forcing him to generally lay low. Since then, he has decided to pursue a life of helping others and making others feel welcome so that hopefully no one else has to be put through that pain again having seen what has happened from his anger and using his summons to do harm. He still holds tight to his traditions that he can remember from being a boy and values honor and personal integrity above all else.
His eidolon resembles something of a fantastical looking linnorm and he only summons good creatures by practice. Having founded a guild of arcane casters in Sandpoint known as the Psijic Order, he hopes to use magic as an active force of good in the world and has set the order's mission to combat evil, freely heal the sick and feed the hungry and so on while carrying a collective respect for tolerance.
My magic user in PFS is an lazy elven noble, a summoner who's eidolon is a bastard sword-wielding maid.
