Curious on Character Creation

Advice

Scarab Sages

Tactical Monkey here.
After having a long Hiatus on the whole D&D area since 4th Edition was released, I have decided to try Pathfinder.

Its very interesting with so many actually interesting and diverse choices and much exploration into each class and just so much flexibility from the looks of it.

Now I'm wondering if my character idea is unacceptable. That idea being:
Orc Gunslinger 1. The archetype I thought that would fit this idea is really the Gun Tank archetype for Gunslingers. I was thinking also at whatever point from levels 2-18 in picking up 2 levels in the Barbarian class with the Titan Mauler archetype so I could wield a bigger gun, but not be accurate with it like in high end gameplay using Siege Weapons with the correct feats.

From a fluff standpoint the reasoning is in wanting to make an Ork like from the Warhammer 40k series that wants to use big guns that shoot-a-lot but he himself is not too accurate with them.

Orc Attribute Bonuses/Penalties: +4 Str, -2 Charisma, -2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom.
Favorable Gunslinger Attributes: Dexterity and Wisdom.
So as you can see it the Class/Race combination do not mesh together at all from a power-gamer standpoint. Which was another thing I wanted to avoid.

Attributes for whoever cares with point buy:
STR: 18(+4)
DEX: 16(+3)
CON: 14(+2)
INT: 8 (-1)
WIS: 14(+2)
CHA: 5 (-3)
(19 point buy)

Level 20 End Goal: Orc Gunslinger 18 (Gun Tank)/Barbarian 2 (Titan Mauler)

In case I was too confusing: Just wondering if Orc Gunslinger could be a playable choice in the Pathfinder Society.

Love that enthusiasm!

First, you'll want to review the player resources for Pathfinder Society.

PFS typically caps at level 12 and Orcs aren't an allowable character race, although a half-orc is. Siege weapons also aren't allowed. Actually, yeah... Just read the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized play first and then come back and ask questions about the character you want to create.

Silver Crusade

As mentioned, you'll want to look at the Guide to Organized Play, which is free to download here. It talks about character creation, and gives all the legal options.

For races, it's pretty limited, which some people don't like, but it does keep things from getting out of hand. You can only do the 7 core races, plus aassimar, tiefling, and tengu.

Check the additional resources page for details about what else is legal from various books. I don't really know much about gunslingers, so I don't know what you can do there, but other than going orc, nothing you mentioned jumps out at me as being illegal in Society play. Best to be sure, though.

Scarab Sages

Huh, alright. Half-Orc Gunslinger is duable. Mostly just wanted an Orc for fluff reasons but seeing as how a 22 STR level 1 Orc Barbarian that rages now having 26 STR is a wee-bit absurd I will admit.

Since 12 is the cap, that would mean that I would need to go with my end goal of a Gunslinger 10 (Gun Tank) / Barbarian 2 (Titan Mauler) build.

However... a Large or Larger gun is not allowed to be purchased. So I would have to find a large gun instead of purchasing one, correct? Hopefully its not next to impossible though to find a Large Gun as otherwisethat would mean the Titan Mauler archetype is a worthless choice on my end as the archetype encourages the usage of big weapons which fits with the fluff material for 40k when concerning an Or(c/k).

Level 1 Feat (Ferocious Resolve)
Level 1 Deed (Quick Clear)

Faction Sczarni
Traits
Steel Skin (Decorative Helm, +2 on Intimdate Checks)
Bad Reputation (Intimidate Bonus)

Sczarni

I am unable to think of any scenario that has a Large sized creature that wields a gun that is then available on the chronicle sheet. If anyone can think of one please post, but I don't believe there is one. Sorry.

That and titan maulers are restricted to wielding larger MELEE weapons, as per the FAQ released quite some time ago the appropriate FAQ is copied below

Barbarian--Titan Mauler: Does the Jotungrip class feature (page 30) allow the Titan Mauler to use oversized weapons?

No. Jotungrip allows the titan mauler to use two-handed melee weapons in one hand, but only if the weapon is appropriately sized for the character. The massive weapon class feature allows her to use oversized weapons with decreased penalty, but does not allow her to use two-handed weapons of that size in one hand.

Update Page 30, in the titan mauler archetype, in the Jotungrip class feature, in the first sentence, insert the word "melee" between "two-handed" and "weapon."

Steel Skin & Bad Reputation both give Trait Bonus to Intimidate, so they don't stack.

These are excellent Advice questions. Flagged to be moved.

His questions are PFS related though, so I believe he is in the right forum.

You won't be able to find any oversized guns in Pathfinder Society play, sorry. Guns are super, super rare in Golarion as the only nation that has manufactured them is keeping it top secret.

If I was going a Warhammer 40k styled shooty-ork I'd go pistolero archetype and enchant my two guns with flaming burst enchantments. You wouldn't crit often but when you do, the heads go pop.

You could possibly combine pistolero with the fighter's mobile fighter archetype so you can always run into battle blasting away and get a bonus to blast there. Or you could go the fighter archetype unbreakable and have a super tough as nails orc who isn't afraid of anything.

Strength won't help you at all with guns, sorry.
