Hey Guys, posting this up so you have a place to discuss this. Going to start up Jade Regent as my homebrew was a bust. If you can, try to make characters together, using teamwork feats and the like. Also, as citizens of Sandpoint, try to interwork your back stories.
Crunchy Bits
25 Point buy (something different this time)
Average HP, max at level 1
150 gold
2 traits, one from the players guy, make sure to list who your NPC is
Races: keep it non monstrous
Classes: Keep it to PFRPG
There are also two other option, play a "We be Goblins" licktoad goblin
or
Play one of the four major NPC's, this includes Ameiko Kaijitsu, Shalelu Andosana, Sandru Vhiski, or Koya Mvashti
Have at it! Gameplay will be up on Friday, or earlier if you guys are all super keener and finish early
Male Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded) Monk 1
This is what I have so far, enjoy and whine as you see fit. ;)
But really stat wise and background wise I think I am almost complete.
Female
I will have to think a bit and look over what classes the NPCs are before I decide what to play.
When it comes to the NPC's, anything is good as long as you stick to what makes sense. But here is what everyone actually is.
Ameiko Kaijitsu - Bard/Fighter
Shalelu Andosana - Ranger
Sandru Vhiski - Rogue
Koya Mvashti - Cleric or Desna
Since its a travelling campaign, cavalier okay?
Male Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded) Monk 1
Anyone know a good trait for this guy?
Say your a pathfinder and take Honored Fist of the Society - +1 to ki pool
I think order of the sword - she'll swear allegiance to Ameiko - that work? :D
Male
I'm very tempted to revive Nuggle. He would need a little tweeking of course, but I really had fun with him. Always trying to hide.
Hmmm. How do we feel about vishkanya? :D
Fallen_Mage - Just letting you know that any goblin characters will not be starting with the party, but will be coming in slightly later. That's not to say that you won't be playing as we will still have some story to cover with just you
Lexibean - Vishkanya are humanoid, so they are ok. You may still have some prejudice
As long as its Ic! I know a friend of mine hates unusual races so I always check. :)
Male Human Monk 1 [HP 10/10; AC 17 / FF 14 / T 16; F+4/ R: +5 / W: +5; init: +3; Perc: +7]
OK need to update stats and Lou is good to go.
I can even tie in with a Noro cameo.
Speaking of that, it will be five years after Rise of the Runelords, Tierce has set up a Pathfinder Outpost
How did you want the future Tierce and Noro to be?
Also, DarkestHeart from my Murder game is welcome to join us if he posts. As this AP has more "roles" to worry about, I'm ok with a group of seven
Also two monks is a bit much, can Ed and Omni work that out between the two of you. Someone taking Ninja instead is a fine option as well

With two monks, a cavalier and a Goblin rogue, we're pretty hefty on the figty front. I'm thinking I should go for a full caster - either a Oracle of Nature or a Sylvan Blooded Sorcerer so I have an animal companion to ride either way.
Any thoughts or opinions?
Nugget ++, incidentally.
MANY MONKS!
I'm gonna have my Cavalier be a foster child if Koya's that ran off to be a pathfinder - cool?
Male
@Tierce - That's fine. Like I said it's a temptation.
If anyone's interested in how he works, here is the We Be Goblins he was in.

Gendarme are extra fighty, but I always giggle a little after being pulled over by them in France.
I like to balance party roles as best as we can, so if we have a bit much of melee or a bit much martial, we can see if people are willing to switch. There are 22 different classes after all
Im cool with whatever really. :) I'm just looking for a new class. :) The real issue is i'm trapped on my ipad - no real way to make a character that doesn't make me want to rip my face off. So it might be a bit before I get stats 'for realz'. But I can make up the fluffs!
Male Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded) Monk 1
In the immortal words of a child, I was first. But really I want to play a pure monk for this game as Xutal was built for it. That and I always end up playing an arcane caster of somekind and I would like to try something else. >.<
No real rush. The glory of a pbp, instead of having to make a character in a night like in RL, you can take a few days here!
Ha, lets not play the game of "shotgun" with classes. We are all adults and I'm sure we can work it out without anyone getting offended.
Reason why we can't play "shotgun", Ed messaged me about a year ago when we did the first Rise of the Runelords and stated that if I ever did a Jade Regent, he wanted to play Lou Kasuri, his monk.
Hopefully I can beat someone up for their laptop sometime soon.
><
Also Omni, on the flip side of that, don't think I'm not sympathetic to the troubles of being stuck in Arcane all the time. You've heard the story of my Carrion Crown (which coincidentally has been cancelled for the next 3 weeks, sad panda)

I'm happy to go caster, to help the heavy martial situation. Just ned to decide whether Oracle or Sorcerer - I can't seem to get the hang of non-spontaneous casters, for some reason, or I'd go Druid.
NOOOOOO NOT THE CARRION CROWN.
Its easy, Jon! Get T-rex, cast enlarge. Druid complete.

A giant T-Rex you say? Hmmm...
Oh. Oh my god. If I switch to a Beastrider, can I ride a hippogriff?! >.>;
Male Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded) Monk 1
::Points to the "but really" part of his last post::
;-)
On phone so I can't look at a bunch of class stuff at the moment.

lexibean wrote: Oh. Oh my god. If I switch to a Beastrider, can I ride a hippogriff?! >.>; Yesssssss.
Lexibean - You would need to take leadership as a feat to be able to get yourself a magical companion. It is the only justifiable reason for a character to take leadership. However, there's an easier option. You have a player considering to be a druid. At level 4 when they shape change, you ride into battle together

JonGarrett wrote: Just ned to decide whether Oracle or Sorcerer Why not both? Think of the backstory you could do with that combo.

Or take the Ranger Archetype Hippogrif Rider (or, for the official Paizo title, Sable Company Marine) which gives you a Hippogirff of your very own to love and cherish.
A Sorcerer/Oracle Mystic Theurge? Hmmm....
And play a Samsaran so you have access to every spell (divine and arcane) known to the world
Male Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded) Monk 1
Roughriders can have any mount they manage to aquire and trained hippogriff can be bought. So just a matter of money if I remember right.
K. :) I was just reading different riding things. LOL. There is a Ranger archetype that allows for Hippogriffs as normal animal companions - thus the question.
http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Sable_Company
However, riding a druid around would be fun too. XD Whatever works best for the campaign.
Just don't giggle about the idea of "riding" another player. I tried to propose the idea to my wife for Carrion Crown, but she wouldn't stop laughing
LOL. OH NO.
*edit, 5000 gold to buy a baby hippogriff that isn't too wild to train - that could be an in character goal for eventual ridings, something to do in the downtimes rather than combat. :) If we survive long enough maybe it'll get old enough to ride? Cavaliers do get the ability to train things.
If you'd rather I NOT ride a flying thing, its cool. :)
Male. Mostly. Human. Mostly. Archaeologist
Mine would insist we do it...
I absolutely plan to ride the druid. :P
Oop, no that's a fully trained Hippo - if I buy a Hippogriff EGG its 200 gold. If I buy a baby its 500. HMMMMM
Lexi - you would still need leadership as its a magical animal. Which means you could ride it at level 7
Also, just a note, just like Rise of the Runelords, as this is a pbp, dungeons crawls will be scalded back so that it flows better
Cool. I will buy an egg. And RP having an egg / baby carting around with me in the caravan for 7 levels. :D Mostly I just wanna RP abouts it. In the mean time I ride the druid! I mean, um. >.>;
well you ride the druid at level 4 to level 7, so you still need your own mount from level 1 to 4
Yes, I need to pick something! What's fun! More about flavors than effectiveness. XD
