It's just that I've found that people who don't like Firefly and I generally have very, very little in common. And friendships very rarely form out of it.I mean I dated and was engaged to a girl who hated Firefly vehemently for 6 years. And everything Whendon. We broke it off, but not because of a TV show.
I see what you did there.

Hmm...
TMNT Voice recastings for Leonardo and Splinter.
This was announced too late to be an April Fool's joke.

Nothing yet noted on IMDB, but I found Deadline (and Comicbook.com and Comicbookmovie that referenced Deadline's article, and Nerdbastards that references Comicbookmovie's).

Seen the film. Don't waste your money. Wait for it to come out on blu-ray and DVD.
Action is good, acting is meh, April is terrible (I actively rooted for her to die), Shredder is a white guy (points go for the choice of actor, but still) and Splinter learned ninjutsu by reading an instruction manual?
Anyway, I almost left the cinema after an hour, but I forced myself to stay and watch, mainly because I paid money.
Don't waste money.

Ive no plans to see this anytime soon, but I do have a question for Hama or others who have seen it. My buddy loves TMNT and has been getting his young daughter into the cartoons. He told me he was taking her and I jokingly said, "Its Bay this thing will have sex/drug jokes, gansta rapping turtles, and a half naked Megan Fox, not sure you want to take your daughter to that." Turns out that was enough to make him rethink taking her. She is currently 5 and the only thing I heard so far is that the movie is really violent. How far off am I? Should my buddy stick to his decision?

Shredder is a white guy? Really? Did you fall a sleep or something?
I would not say it was a horrible movie...just not worth the inflated price of movie tickets today.

Violence, yes. Sex...eh...just standard Megan Fox assshakery. Maybe he should see it alone first, to make up his own mind.
Mikey is sorta gangsta, but on the goofy side. There is good humor in the movie.
It reminds me of one of the Honest Trailer gags... Megan Fox who combines the looks of a professional porn star with the acting of an amateur porn star...
I have not seen TMNT, but I joked to my brother that Michael Bay movies must have lots of action, little to no plot, and be too long for having little to no plot.
He said he enjoyed the movie, and also that my statement was still spot on. I'm not sure if that makes me happy or sad.

I seen the film, its a good popcorn action movie. But best to wait for DVD Blu Ray.
I don't understand why everyone thinks Shredder is a white guy. People seem the think Shredder is the guy saying "miss O'neil" in the trailer. Its bot, they show who Shredder is and he is clearly Asian.
Because of articles like this saying he is. Seriously every article I saw before this released that mentioned Shredder said that William Fichtner was playing him.

yeah...for whatever reason lots of news sites linked Fichtner to Shredder. Although based on the movie, I sort of expect that maybe that character WAS suppose to be Shredder, but then they backed off at the last minute, and did a rewrite. At the very least, Fichtner's role is sort of pointless.
Anyway I saw it last night. I think there are enough elements in the movie that if you were a fan of the animated series from the early 90s/late 80's, you might get a few nods and chuckles. If you are not, than there really is nothing endearing about the movie or it's really stupid plot. FYI...I don't see this movie as being that bad for kids...it's certainly less violent and exploitative than the Transformers movies, although some little kids in the audience were initially scared of the turtles
More detailed opinions
Positives (which are really "was expecting worse"):
The turtles are not as bad looking as I thought...you get used to them fast. Also each turtle was different enough that I didn't have a problem telling who was who, and the personalities seemed to fit with what I remember from their TV personas. Movie Raphael was more "angry" than snarky however
Megan Fox actually wasn't that bad. They don't really go for the degree of sex exploitation for her character that they did in Transformers, and I felt the movie didn't focus on her to the exclusion of the turles. Which was the vibe I got from Transformers and Shia Leboeuf
Shredder is pretty cool, even if I think aspects of his character were only made at the last minute
The Bad
Oh god the geography. A good chunk of the movie takes place at the bad guys estate, which we are told is 45 minutes drive from NYC (in summer/spring). Said estate is in a wintery high alpine region with no people that I am pretty damn sure was actually filmed in the Rockies. Said remote mountain region also for some reason had convenient sewer access to NYC.
I know you really wanted that cool mountain chase scene...but really? This was the suspension of belief that broke the camel's back
Everything with Splinter. Honestly...Splinter looked creepy, and unlike the turtles I never got used to the creepiness. Also, shredder learned fighting not from his master, or from being a human martial arts master, but from a book he found in the sewer.
Again..this seems to be some sort of weird script problem. Because movie splinter inexplicably knows all about the Shredder, including warning the turtles they are not ready to face him. We get a Shredder vs. Splinter fight, which because the characters have no actual relationship with one another, loses any emotional resonance it might have had. Whats worse, the whole scene is filmed in such a way that I think those characters WERE supposed to have a prior emotional connection
The foot clan felt less like ningas, and more like generic terrorists. I suppose an improvement over some versions, but still...

If it was getting such bad press about that, and it was wrong, why did'nt the film company do something to stop it?

Because any publicity is good publicity. And because they don't care about fans. They know that the movie will bring money. They know that millions will watch it, even though most of those will say bad things about it.

Saw it last night. My reaction was a resounding "meh".
I liked Fichtner's character, much as he didn't show up all that much. It was enjoyable at the time, but I'm finding it hard to recall a lot of it already. Shredder was kind of cool. Turtles were easy to tell apart, which was nice. Megan Fox was tolerable, which is the best I expect from her. I actually liked Splinter. I quite liked Will Arnett's character as well, though I'm already unable to remember his name. Whoopi Goldberg's character felt superfluous, she basically existed to tell off April twice and was never seen again.
Good way to describe it from my point of view would be the fast food comparison. It's enjoyable to eat at the time, fills you up, but it's nothing memorable. Also less explosions than I expected from Michael Bay, but I guess he was only the producer rather than the director.

... how... are you... not able to remember "Vernon"?! He's not new to the movie! He was in the cartoons and comics!
... though I have to say, this was, by far, the best portrayal of that character I've ever seen. He was even... likable, for once. (I was quite certain he was in the old '90 movie, too, or one of it's sequels as a side-character, though I can't seem to find him at present.)

It significantly exceeded my expectations. I found it far more enjoyable than I thought, and I actually liked the characters.
The two "meh" moments in the film were Fichtner's ludicrously villainous "all their blood" line, and the needless destruction of Vernon's new car at the end treated as a minor joke.
I actually enjoyed it... despite going in convinced I wouldn't.
