Issues with damage aside (and you could stack a LOT of dice if you build the character for it and used the right spells), the problem that jumps to my mind is 'how is this character going to fit in a dungeon?' You're either going to have to have shrink person as a special ability, or every dungeon you come across will just happen to be built extra large.
Personally, I try to avoid creating a character that the GM is going to have to pander to in order to make shine. Playing a gnome lawyer in a campaign with no political intrigue would be inappropriate, for example. In this case, the GM is going to have to give you a way to shrink down, or modify every dungeon the party encounters.
