I've got some fun dnd stories about 'time', so it should be interesting to see how Skaar deals with this considering his "Orcish" limitations in regards to time.
Skaar
Skaar wants to shoot her down and either set these people free or at the very least storm out but he doesn’t feel like he has much of a choice. He’s in a foreign land chasing a vision with little other information to go by. Backstory-Skaar would just throw her down, tear off her shawl, and make her talk (among other things).
Skaar
I'm crashing.
Once Corda gets Skaar back on track, I have a plan!
Drago Skorzeny
“Spray paint. You see, you can’t you regular make-up on dead skin. You need a palate and practically grind the stuff in. One day I was in a hardware store and I thought, ‘Hey, why not maniquin paint? It’s got its own chemical adhesive. And it comes in a variety of flesh….”
Skaar
Yeah, I got that part now. I guess it's because they were born on the crazy magic island.
Drago Skorzeny
Hey guys, got a question for you.
As you may recall, I've said that Drago is going Oracle of Bone after his daring escape. Anyway, I'm taking the Haunted mystery and was wondering if you all would have issue with me having another alias, or two, representing the spirits?
Skaar
It sounds fine to me but that sounds more like a DM concern.
Skaar
Where is everyone today? We have demon worshipers to smite!
Skaar
All day!?
Skaar
That makes more sense.
Cyna Singer
Funny you should say that actually. I was sleeping late because I have to work overnight on the day I requested off...
Skaar
I knew it!
Drago Skorzeny
Skaar
Hopefully this is one of those curses that includes amazing superpowers ala the Hulk.
Skaar
=(
In other news, that whole scene was very Conan-esque. A beautiful oracle turns out to be a horrific monster and gets brained with a torch. I suppose technically, Skaar should have slept with her first.
GM Henry Fortuna
That would be a very Conan thing to do, but, since there is already one woman present, it's just as well.
Edit: But I'm kinda disappointed, since I could have used this song for the theme.
Skaar
Bah. Limits!
All of my games are slow today. What am I supposed to entertain myself with while I'm doing cardio?
Skaar
What's that? Did you start a cyberpunk game?
GM Henry Fortuna
No, my wife's got a hankering for the game and I haven't played anything since Cybergeneration. She used to play 2020, but all the books are out print. We ended going with our friend to 5 different stores just to learn that. Well, a couple of our not-so-local game stores carry used books, so we thought it'd be worth a shot. She doesn't want to play Netrunner because that's just another card game that'll sit around the house. I can order the books off Amazon but it'd be $75 just for the corebook and the Chromebook collections. I'm one of those guys who likes to have the physical book in front of me and it's a heck of a lot easier to pass around than my laptop. So I'm debating if I should buy the 2020 books or look for another system. I want something that is solely dedicated to cyberpunk rather than a system like Gurps or Savage Worlds or even *shudder* D20 Modern.
Skaar
Well is she hankering for some cyberpunk in general or does she want a game she can play with you?
There was a retro-style shadowrun RPG that came out a couple months back. Do you think she'd enjoy a single player RPG?
GM Henry Fortuna
This kind of stems from our lack of friends. We have a grand total of 2 friends who play tabletop RPGs. I used to run Pathfinder for them, but either one or both of them can't show up on a regular basis and it burns me out to have to run a lot of NPCs and then having to run a game based on who's present. I used to run a solo game for her, but Pathfinder is a really team-based system. Don't get me wrong, I love it but it's not appropriate for the group I have (Somehow I manage to rationalize buying more books for it and she's okay with that). I had her try out one of my PbP's but that's kinda fizzling out right now and I may end it.
She would sure love something that I can run just for her. I used to run Big Eyes, Small Mouth for her when she was laid up in the hospital after we got married. But she does want some cyberpunk, she's been going on about it for a while.
Skaar
Unfortunately Shadowrun is the only exposure I've had to cyberpunk. I had some friends in high school that loved it so I played it quite a bit. To be honest, I never really wrapped my head about the themes that really define the genre.
Was she enjoying the PBP until the fizzling occurred?
Skaar
Bah, maybe you should try getting her into a game with some decent players.
It really bugs me when people think it's okay to flake on a game just because it's PBP.
Skaar
You're running a couple others. Is there no vacancies in those either?
Skaar
Oh, bummer. I thought the Quiverpike game was going well?
Cyna Singer
The Quiverpike Campaign is the one she's in. There's the steampunk one. And then the two side stories to this one, which isn't fair to her because they're not going to be long term games.
Shouldn't be a problem as long as it wrapped around back into this one.
