80? That's tough. Is your dad younger?

Arista Milocathe |

So...if we are able to go out there it will the Mon-Tues after father's day, like the 16th and 17th...but, that's only if we can swing it money wise. Otherwise I just have to pray that my mother uses some common sense. And believe me, that's asking for an awful lot.

Skaar |

Ugh, I can only imagine. My parents stress me out and they’re only in their 50s.

Arista Milocathe |

yeah, imagine your dad when he's almost 80 climbing up on a roof to fix some tiles and then nearly falling off while you stand outside watching his near fatal accident. That was fun I can tell you.

Arista Milocathe |

Well, we gotta go. Alethiro, feel free to drag Arista around the way she does with you in the interest of getting things done. I will retcon any necessary responses to things once we get home in the morning. Hope everyone has a good night.

Arista Milocathe |

I talked to mom this evening after I got up, and she says she's okay...but, I don't know. She said that she's not as stiff and sore as she thought she would be, and that the gash on her arm will heal. Depending on what happens with Brandi, we might still go out there on the 16th.

Presenting the Wheel of Maternity! Wheel of Maternity, turn turn turn, tell us the lesson that we should learn. All thanks should go to Sādhanā.
1- Nauseated: Pregnant women with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn. This lasts for 1d3 hours each morning.
2 - Fatigued: A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.
3 - Scent Sensitivity: Select a smell that you like or are accustomed to, such as perfume, armor polish, horses etc. The character will experience a strong aversion to this smell. Continued exposure to this scent requires a will save or suffer the effects of being Sickened: The character takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. This save must be made every 1d4 hours one is exposed to the scent.
4 - Breast Swelling and Tenderness: Difficulty fitting restrictive clothing or armor requiring some sort of supportive garment or spell. Continuous discomfort serves as a minor distraction. Treat as -1 to all concentration and Str. based skill checks.
5 - Frequent Urination: While usually a minor inconvenience, the constant need to excuse herself can lead to irritation in others. This will impose a -2 circumstance penalty to any social interaction lasting more than one hour with an individual not aware of her pregnancy. Increase travel times and other ongoing activities such as crafting, by 10% due to regular breaks.
6 - Shortness of Breath: Some women feel mildly short of breath when they first become pregnant and sometimes throughout pregnancy due to the increased need for additional oxygen. Characters must succeed on a Fortitude save each hour (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or be fatigued. The fatigue ends when the character rests for 1 hour. Additionally, all altitude effects are treated as one step up.
7 - Mood swings: It's common to have mood swings during pregnancy, partly because of hormonal changes. Everyone responds differently to these changes. Some moms-to-be experience heightened emotions, both good and bad; others feel more depressed or anxious. This manifests as a -2 to saves against all emotion affecting spells or effects.
8 - No effect that day.

Do we know the cause of nausea during pregnancy? I know it's common, but some women never experience it, while some fewer experience it all the way through, while I think the majority only experience it in the first trimester?

GM Henry Fortuna |

It's an abstract like much of roleplaying is. The entire experience is entirely subjective and there's no way to tailor it to each individual person. This is merely the chart for the first trimester and, as need arises or inspiration strikes us, we'll come up with the other two.
1. The Save DC is...don't get pregnant.
2. There will probably be accommodations to reduce the penalties/symptoms through magical/alchemical means, Remove Disease won't work.

I wasn't wrong about that either, cuz we sure got a dilly of a storm. It was lookin like a hurricane out there for a little bit. It's lightened up, but still raining. Just hope it doesn't drive up the humidity even more. *sigh*

Enjoy the nap.

It helped....a little. Took a while to fall asleep, and there was the headache, ankle pain, and acid reflux to deal with....but when we come home tomorrow....I'm not staying up past 9. It'll be, come home...check on the games and GO TO BED.

Cyna Singer |

Stupid people in my lobby again. A group of them playing games and being loud and this woman's daughter keeps telling her she wants to go to bed and this woman just keeps on talking and ignoring her kid.
Annnnd they have me scheduled for a day I told them I can't work again. Annnnd. No body did any towels so the pools full of dirty ones and no clean ones.
AH. What a wonderful first 20min of the shift.

Sādhanā Risbane |

Geez that sucks. I started my shift to ADT calling me to tell me the burglar alarm went off at my house and I couldn't get my wife on the phone for over an hour. Turns out some idiot posting flyers on people's doors set it off, but a very stressful beginning to my night.

Sādhanā Risbane |

Yeah which is one of the things I love. The thing is we need to train people or have at least enough trained soldiers among the refugees to police areas and set up to have people inhabit areas we clear, otherwise we'll just end up having to do it again later.
